My now fiancé took me here for a romantic meal before he proposed later that evening! The ambience of the restaurant was quite posh and we did feel a little under-dressed! However, the service was friendly overall, although after we'd finished the mains, nobody came back over to offer us dessert or the bill, so we had to ask for... More

My wife and I just returned home after a disappointing evening at Pomo D'Oro. We had planned on a romantic evening at a lovely Italian Trattoria but instead had a very disappointing and frustrating experience. While the food and servers were fine, we were seated in an area with a couple who had a very disruptive child. Many of the... More

Waited over an hour for starters and then got charged service. When I said I wasn't prepared to pay for it - I was told I had to! Very poor experience- poor pizza , good pasta . The owner apologised as we left - too little , too late Avoid .

My brother and I were in need of italian food while travelling and decided to eat at the Trattoria Pomo d'Oro. It totally felt like home, the service was impeccable, the food was delicious and the price was reasonable. Keep it up!

Our last night in Budapest we got a bit lazy and did not make dinner reservations figuring we would eat early due to an early morning flight the next day. We decided on this restaurant based on trip advisor recommendation and its proximity to our hotel. We wandered over about 615 pm and entered the first door for restaurant we... More

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
