Our family visited Kehli restaurant an a sunny workday to have lunch to avoid the busy weekend period.
We were 7 of us and enjoyed our meals very much and the atmosphere of the restaurant.
The staff was friendly and helpful. We were seated in...the courtyard area outside and it was a good decision. Portions were pretty big.
The final bill was approx. HUF 40,000 which included a bowl of soup, 4 main dishes, a plate of mixed meats for 2 persons, desserts (floating island, ice cream, Gundel pancake), several drinks (beers, mineral waters, lemonades, etc.) and the service charge.
All in all, we will return again! :-)More
Food with live music. Typically Hungarian food with a 1970s vibe.
A large selection of hearty fayre with a decent wine list.
There is live music and on the night we visited there was a fantastic fiddle player, electric guitarist and a keyboard player. They...move around the tables and play individual numbers for you.
The fiddle player asked where we were from, we said Manchester, he started playing Yesterday! I suppose Liverpool is only 30 miles away so the Beatles were close enough.
The food was very good value and we thought it was the best goulash we tried in Budapest. Cosy vibe, nice, clean interior and also local live Hungarian band playing music every now and then made it a very nice experience.
We had a lovely meal here. After pressing efforts, a local disclosed the information about this place in her neighborhood. In the end we were so glad having moved out of our comfort zone and visited this place.
We consider it the first step in...to real Hungarian life.More
This traditional Hungarian restaurant is a little off the beaten track in Budapest yet easily reached. Inside is warm and cosy. There is live music in one of the rooms and a room for quieter eating. Service is fast and friendly and there is a...menu in English although the establishment clearly is not out to cater for the tourist trade. We ate a most pleasant and filling meal. There being 3 of us, we chose a gourmand platter for 3 with grilled pork, flllet steak, and goose livers. The garnish was good. For wine, we were recommended red of Bikaver grapes (not the most expensive in the list!) and it was excellent. (It’s always fun to have a wine from grapes that are also off the beaten track!). The bill for the meal was very reasonable and we will be eating there again during our short stay here.More
I rather enjoyed the food but my husband thought it was bland and tasteless, I did have to put a lot of seasoning on it. The atmosphere was very good with a 3 piece band playing around the tables, some folk like that sort of...thing some don't.More
