Excellent top restaurant! We had our wedding reception in this magnificent restaurant on 29th May 2021. The managers were very helpful and accommodating during the preparation phase. On The Day they provided a supreme service: outstanding food, professional waiters and unforgettable ambient in the recently refurbished restaurant. One must not forget the beautiful view from the restaurant’s terrace on the lake and fountain. We can only recommend it!

We visited the Hemingway with my colleagues. The terrace by the lake is really nice, the view is pleasant, and the overall environment is relaxing. We were having lunch there but I am sure the illumination further improves the mood of the place during the evening.
The menu offers particular combination of tastes, also offering types of meat which are rarely found in ordinary restaurants (e.g. rabbit, Hungarian grey cattle). The taste was excellent of all the dishes tried.
Prices and portions are suitable for a fancy Budapest restaurant, which Hemingway surely is.
A place I personally would consider suitable for romantic dates as well.

We celebrated our wedding at this incredible restaurant, and it exceeded all our expectations! The food was nothing short of perfection, with every dish crafted to delight. The staff truly made our day special with their warm, attentive, and friendly service, making us and our guests feel like royalty. The atmosphere was enchanting, and every detail was handled flawlessly. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience! Highly recommend!

The good points are that it's a beautiful restaurant and the food was lovely, albeit very expensive. The down side however was we ordered off the pasta\ vegetarian section (which only had 3 options) and presumed they were vegetarian but although my wife's meal was fine mine actually came with ham on it which is NOT a veggie meal. It did state "bresoala" in the menu but I presumed that was some Hungarian ingredient I'd never heard of! When I mentioned this to the waiter he just said it was a pasta OR vegetarian list and didn't seem interested in our complaint. We left and paid and wil not return

We visited this restaurant in the hope of using this venue for our wedding reception. We came on a Friday night, the restaurant was fairly empty considering we arrived at “prime time”.
The servers were nice/friendly throughout the whole experience, and were always checking on us to make sure we were enjoying our food, and whether we needed anything else.
Unfortunately, when it came to the food, we were left very disappointed. The food seemed to have come out in record time for each course, almost as if the dishes were prepared beforehand and just warmed up (not saying this is true, but it sure felt like it!). For the price we paid, ultimately we didn’t consider the food to be at the level that we expected.
Furthermore, when we both arrived home, we both had extremely upset stomachs, something that has not happened to me in many years of visiting restaurants. I’m not sure what caused it, but it ruined the rest of our evening.
The area is beautiful, the restaurant is well kept, however I simply cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy their food and be sure that they don’t get sick at the end of the day.

Excellent food, friendly staff, very good price/quality of food. The restaurant is located at the side of the Feneketlen lake, it has a nice terrace overlooking to the lake. It is easy to get there by public transportation. The staff speaks very good English.

The food is above average based on my preferences, ambience is excellent though. The view from the restaurant is simply great. Slightly in the expensive side when it comes to value for money. I believe they are charging for the ambience.

Hemingway was the perfect place to have dinner with our family. It is located close to the city centre, but in a quiter, natural area. There is a great terrace with view on a nice lake. Staff was friendly and the service was fast.
We enjoyed our meal too.
We will return.

The place itself looks nice but there are several problems within.
Let's start with the good things. The place is really big, there are plenty of space for everyone. There are several waiters so the information exchange is really fast. The food tastes great, however the portion is small for a man. Last but not least the bathroom is perfectly clean and well equipped.
On the other hand, there are not many meals to choose from and moreover there were some of these few which were not even available to order. I know I repeat myself, but the portion is very small for a man. The waiters are not aware of the currently available stock of drinks. They had to go back into the kitchen and check whether a type of wine is available or not every single time. But the worst thing is the price. This restaurant is overpriced and just does not worth it in my opinion. I ate much more better meals than these for less in other great restaurants around Budapest.
Smoking is only allowed outside, disabled person can use the restaurant and you can pay with card or cash.
I would not recommend this place as there are many others which are just simply better in everything.

When you try to eat something because the internet says.... it's open - but it's not really.
....unfortunately, I can't recommend a restaurant that doesn't give a guest a chance to look elsewhere.

This is a wonderful restaurant I was here a few weeks ago with my boyfriend! We had such a nice night! The food was amazing, the people were very nice, the atmosphere was great! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to eat or drink something fantastic with kind people around them! Thank you for the night we’ll go back soon again!
