This place is a gem. The personnel is well organised and hospitable. The atmosphere is very nice. The design of the place is incredible.
Food! It is quiet good, some of the dishes we like a lot, some didn't suit our taste.
The big MINUS here is that they cheat unconstrainedly, like "oh, really, you are right. Here is the correct bill".
We ordered the home made palinka, which costs 880ft per shot in their menu, and they brought us the bill with 1800ft per one. The same with wine. The glass of wine costs 1800 ft in the menu. And the bill shows 2000ft. Very disappointing fact. Be careful! Check your bills on the spot!

We had this restaurant recommended by our walking food tour guide . The only table we could get was 8.30pm The initial impression was very good with staff attentive and helpful . The steak we ordered was great , but I wouldn’t bother with the eggplant starter . We noticed staff leaving and then looking very relaxed around us . When we did managed to get the attention of someone to order dessert , they told us we were too late as the kitchen was now closed . No apology ! So all that was left was get the bill with a ‘bad taste’ in our mouth . Moral of story - get dessert order in promptly otherwise you will be disappointed!

The real traditional Hungarian food experience. Was really happy with my choice to visit this place while in Budapest. Wanted to try the Hungarian cuisine and Kiraly100 Gastro was the best choice by far. Started with Goulash, properly done, spicy and with meat that had the right texture. Continued with the second dish, mangalitsa chuck steak from Tokaj, with lecso that just a delight for any food gourmand. Properly done, healthy fat and totally enjoyable. Ended with a apple strudel and vanilla cream. All dishes was warm to hot so would say they would be very suited from a cold winter day in Budapest. Service was fast, respectful and I have no complaints. Paid around 40EUR for all the above including 0.5 local beer and water. Will visit for sure during my next visit in Budapest.

Very good traditional Hungarian cuisine with a number of menu choices. The service, however, was mediocre with one of the waiters being very rude and impatient. Went here several times as we we are locals and the food is always good, but service is hit or miss depending on your waiter.

This place has been terrible in everything, the staff was incredible rude and lazy, the food orrible, we have paid the same amount spent in a Michelin restaurant on the previous night to have frozen food. 20 € for a cold and dry steak, acid wine.
TERRIBLE!!!

Excellent local cuisine and good service. The menu has a varied selection of Hungarian dishes well prepared and presented by an attentive staff. The selection of Hungarian wines was extensive and appropriately suggedted. The atmosphere is warm and friendly with both yound and older customers enoying a good evening.

Come here to taste Hungarian cuisine. Prices are not cheap, I understand. But when half an hour of selling dessert and a waiter who clearly had memory and attention deficits brought it to another customer, it was just unpleasant. I think there are a lot of other restaurants in Budapest where waiters don't have memory loss and orientation in time and space.

We found this place by chance, after a visit to Heroes' Square (out of the drowning downtown).
The place is very nice, all wooden, with old tools hanging from the ceiling. It was not crowded but almost full. They made us sit right down. The waiter, very helpful, brought us a menu in Italian and with qr code you can see photos of the dishes
We ordered three stews, a steak and a plate of porcini tagliatelle (alas one of my daughters wanted pasta and we were at an impasse on ordering).
All delicious, incredibly even the tagliatelle. I noticed that they have this habit of throwing rocket in pasta, but other than that, it was al dente, it looked almost handmade and the porcini were delicious.
The beer is great: a small local brewery that serves few local pubs.
The bill was fair.
Highly Recommendation to get off the tourist circuits and go for dinner there

Old Budapest restaurant with antique charm and all the usual favourites. Terrific paprika veal with a tomato and onion salad. With beer, a glass of Szekszárdi red and espresso, the bill was HUF 10,428 for one. Pricy for a restaurant outside the central tourist areas, but recommended.

Two friends went to this very characteristic restaurant to eat typical food. In the end we had two non-traditional second courses (grilled chicken with potatoes; breaded veal and mashed potatoes). Two seconds + cover charge + bottle of wine and water = 22 euros each (18,000 forints).
Excellent service, they served us wine when the glass was empty.
The only flaw: it closes at 10pm.

This restaurant serves beautifully fresh, organically sourced food. The pricing is exceptionally reasonable. The staff are polite, friendly, attentive and helpful. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I have returned to this restaurant 3 times now as there are plenty of menu options.

We tried several restaurants to experience the taste of Tradidional Hungarian Goulash. This was by far the best, for taste, quality of ingredients, and the amnience of this old historical restaurant.
Of the food that We tried here, the Gloulash was the star!

We happened on this place by chance as we were taking our last walk in Budapest in the direction away from the downtown area. It is a residential area and the restaurant feels like a neighborhood place but they have menus in English. I had a goulash soup as starter and for main course the mangalitsa pork steak which was amazing, frankly. Juicy and tender and rich in flavors. To this I had a very good local Cabernet Sauvignon and a Palinka. My wife had shrimp papardelle which she liked too. And a Hugo drink. We really liked the quiet, friendly atmosphere, the excellent food and the friendly service.

We were with two people on a Thursday night on site.
The restaurant did not convince us.
The service was ‘friendly’ in its own way, rather reserved. The food we perceived differently, my goulash soup and also my main course with goulash were taste ‘bland’ for me. Therefore, each future guest should make his own impression. I cannot make a clear recommendation this time. Card payment possible.

Finding a Hungarian restaurant that caters for a veggie is not easy but this fitted the bill. Very good service though the food was served a little too quickly for my liking. My husband’s goulash soup was spot on but my pumpkin soup could have been a little thicker/creamier.
My main dish the grilled goats cheese was lovely. The cabbages stuffed with lamb was good too. The dessert as suggested by the waiter was sublime. Recommended
