We are always back to Osteria in the last 6 years. Excellent and very friendly service. If you check the menu, it isn't so long but very well assorted and all foods are from very fresh ingredients. If you miss something, may you can request as you wish, and this is really rare in a gourmet restaurant. Of course wide... More

We went there for lunch on a weekday, so it is not very busy and it is easy to get a table. The place is stylish and looks very nice. Fausto's ever changing Business Lunch menu is very nice, and will keep you within budget. The soup, the pasta and the panna cotta were all well prepared and tasty. They... More

Had a fabulous dinner here. It was the best dinner I had during my recent visit. All the dishes we tried from the lobster pasta, foie gras ravioli, duck ravioli and etc. , were perfectly prepared and the tastes exploded in our mouths. Waiter was supper kind and very knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients (and all in English). I... More

A menu was provided but the servers were extremely knowledgeable and friendly, taking time to chat as required. We left the recommendations to the staff on both the menu choices and wines once they knew our likes & dislikes. The atmosphere was relaxing but enjoyable, other guests didn't encroach on our experience.

We had a fantastic dinner here on our first night in Budapest. Our friend had recommended this restaraunt and we were glad he did. The menu was really interesting with great choices, the service was outstanding and the courses were served like a ballet. The food was creative and delicious. I hope to get back to Budapest and Fausto's!

Italian food with not much selection. Food is nice but portions are small and takes long to deliver. Would recommend, but don't expect to feel "full"

I absolutely love this place. In the past 12 months I have been a visitor to Budapest on a few occasions for extensive dental work and I go here as often as I can. Being a solo diner I opt for the cheaper Osteria (although the full restaurant menu is available here also) - I will treat my other half... More

I stopped for lunch and was impressed with Faustos. The service was impeccable and professional. It was of a calibre I almost felt jarring at lunch time. Very good. The sparkling water arrived pronto with a standout box of crackers and breads. I had a flavourful Hungarian prosecco with my tagliatelle with lamb ragu and chickpeas. The lamb, pasta and... More

We stumbled upon Fausto's and ate at the more casual Osteria. It was beautifully appointed and the food and wine were perfect. We both had the pasta (with lamb ragout) and a wonderful chocolate dessert (we switched out the ice cream flavor to vanilla). The waiter was incredibly helpful, as well. An amazing value, too. Worth it!

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
