An amazing dining experience from start to finish. The waiters were attentive, patient, observant and kind, humorous and service minded. We were 8 who had booked a table, but 10 upon arrival and the table upstais was rapidly set for 2 extra. Once seated we were treated to varieties of fresh bread and a glass of prosecco. After having heard... More

You know it's not going to be your cheapest night out in Budapest before you walk in, so I see no reason to lamentate about that. Back Home in Germany, this type of dining would have not been affordable. Stellar location and athmosphere, fantastic service and food quality, able to adapt options according to allergy restrictions. A memorable evening to... More

We just walked in, looking for a place for dinner, and didn't have a reservation. We had no idea what kind of restaurant this was, but when they brought out a small table for our handbags I knew we were in for a treat (I've only ever seen that in Michelin star restaurants). The menu choice in the Osteria is... More

First time to Faustos and have booked to go back tomorrow. Set menu was superb and fantastic value. Salmon tartare with wasabi was excellent. Lobster bisque was sensational. Gnocchi with octopus was super as was the swordfish. To end we had the blueberry ricotta cake. All was fantastic. Would totally recommend. Staff were super efficient and friendly. A must if... More

We ate as a party of 8 and had the most amazing evening. Our wonderful waitor, Chubba, looked after us like royalty suggesting the 5 course tasting menu which was exquisite. Excellent value too.

As a starter we asked for the lobster with pineapple jam to share which unfortunately was displeasing because the jam was very sweet and tasted artificial, then some grilled foie gras. The foie gras was breathtaking, absolutely exquisite. We then asked for a pasta with truffles which was the best truffle pasta we ever had and I had pork with... More

We were here cca 2 years ago, if i remember well, several times. I still keep my opinion: this is one of the best in Budapest: food, service, ambiance, wine, everything. This time we were here 4, and took the tasting menu. Excellent. In general,i ake Hungarian wines, but not here. The choice of Italian wines i do not know... More

We went here for dinner and couldn't have wanted any more. Originally we tried to book the restaurant and were told that only the bistro was available but this was the perfect ambiance with attentive and helpful staff and absolutely delicious food. The waiters made our night with their friendliness and fantastic food and wine recommendations and the food was... More

We shared beef carpaccio. The kitchen plated it on separate plates for us. Ravioli stuffed with Eve cheese and smoked paprika was big enough for lunch and very tasty. My husband enjoyed his salmon and linguine too. Good wine selection, lovely ambience.

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
