We were in Budapest for only four days but Cyrano did warrent a couple of visits, both of which we thoroughly enjoyed. One visit was for breakfast and one was for a late lunch. The staff do look a bit sombre but are friendly and very accomodating and were really helpful. The place is very central but just tucked away enough to be peaceful and relaxing. The food was lovely on both visits. There's music but not bellowing and it perfectly matches the setting which has a Boroque type of feel or it did to me anyway. Made to feel welcome, not rushed in anyway and the staff were really on the ball. For breakfast we had the traditional Hungarian scrambled eggs and the traditional Hungarian breakfast, both were lovely, and beautifully presented. Definately worth a visit.

We highly recommend a meal at Cyrano, in inner city Budapest. We suggest you make a booking as it’s a popular restaurant and the delicious Hungarian cuisine, attentive but not intrusive staff and beautiful wine is the reason why. I prefer my red wine to be at room temperature but otherwise this restaurant is faultless. Beautiful presentation. It’s not cheap but you defget value for money

I came across this place by accident and my breakfast definitely came with a twist with butter and jam served in cocktail glasses with a custom monster omelette that I requested coming later on after being given a mountain of toast. The service was not exactly quick and I felt like I was waiting around but it does turn up it's worth waiting for, straight off the pan and onto my plate, I had so much tasty food around me that I didn't know when to stop. As for the extra charges, I come to expect this especially in this area which is designed to be tourist trap and the area is very cheap so I think these extra charges amount to a couple of Pounds or Euros and after COVID, these places need to make their money back, but nothing to over-react to - if you're on a budget just check your bill and don't be afraid to challenge on the price. I'm not too sure I'd visit here again, it's quirky and the service is slow but good for a quick bite at breakfast, although I cannot comment on later meal services.

This restaurant was a really nice surprise as it was recommendation from the concierge at the Marriott. It was a perfect stop after a busy morning. The service was excellent and the food was innovative, elegant, light and most importantly delicious. The restaurant had a relaxing atmosphere which made it a nice setting for either a business or a relaxing lunch with friends. I really enjoyed my meal, and I started with the goulash soup which hit the spot on a winter day. For my main course, I chose the Kormi which was a nice combination of grilled eggplant, vegetables, quinoa, and tofu in tomato ragout.

Well it was our 26 Anniversary and we were enjoying our trip to Budapest and decided to have dinner here at this restaurant. First of all the lady who got us a table was very polite and got us to a really nice table without a reservation even though the place was almost full. Our server was a lovely ma who treated us really well and was an excellent server, our starter which was a beef goulash soup was basically just like a beef stew I would cook myself but was very tasty and we both enjoyed it. Our main meal was filet mignon and was very delicious so no problems there. We also had a couple of nice drinks. We had ordered the chocolate souffle's for our desert and as we were waiting for these the gentlemen sitting to our left were trying to get the waiters attention, he was serving tthe couple to our right as he had already placed their desserts on the table for them I politely said excuse me ( I was just going to let him know that the gentlemen were trying to get his attention when he turned to me and literally shouted that he was serving someone as I could see, I was taken aback by this and said I was just letting him know about my fellow diners to which he again loudly declared he was doing something, he had gone to their table at that time. I was dumbfounded and said how dare he speak to me that was as I had only asked for his help for others and that was after he had served them. He grunted something at me and I am an emotional person and started to get upset. My fellow diners who I had tried to help apologised for him and said they couldn't believe someone could be so rude. At this point I felt awful so my husband asked for the check and cancelled our desserts much to the shock of the wonderful server we had, we explained to him what happened and gave him a tip but left the resturant. The waiter that was rude was tall with black hair and a beard we didnt get his name. It ruined my evening one because I was hurt and humiliated and that I let it get to me enough to leave,"I ca assure you I am as far from being a diva or Karen that there is, so, I feel my experience at this restaurant will keep me fro ever going back there eve though it was only one person made me feel this way. Our bill came to 132 etc euro and think the manager/s should make sure their staff treat people with respect even if they themselves are having a bad day. This is why my rating was low not because of the food/ place.

Saturday evening in Budapest and some trouble finding a table. Call around from the hotel came to Cyrano and we were sent across with instructions to feedback on the evening ( not on their usual list ). Result? A really enjoyable evening - engage with the waiters and you get great attention, really interesting menu with highlights including, chef's salad, sea bass, goose liver and chocolate soufflé. Random Hungarian wine selection turned-up a very interesting house white wine. Around £75 including service. Will return.

We are visiting from the United States and wanted an authentic Hungarian meal. We sat outside in beautiful weather and ate some amazing food. We got the pigeon breast for an appetizer and I got homemade sweet tea (pictured). I got the deer goulash and my sister got the chicken paprika. Both dishes were delicious and served beautifully. My dad got the sea bass which he found a little too fishy. It was excellently cooked. The waiter was very attentive and we enjoyed watching locals and tourists walking around. Was a great night in Budapest.

Had a nice and cozy lunch outside in the cold Budapest! The place inside is lovely and cozy, with plumage on the abatjours.... classy and extremely lovely. The food is special, simple but tasty...with nice additional ingredients that make the meal very particular. A bit overpriced to be honest, but worth it if you need to excape from the traditional hungarian food and come back to the mediterranean taste...even for a lunch/ dinner!

We found the staff very pleasant and hard working. Service was a little slow but we’ve found that in most places in Budapest. We ate outdoors and it was very clean. We actually both really enjoyed our breakfasts, full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The freshly squeezed orange juice was lovely too, although it worked out to be nearly £34 for the two of us after service charge and tax etc.

We had a lovely meal here but as we have discovered others have also commented on the shameful action of our waiter. We were happy to pay the 15% service charge but were then asked by the waiter for a tip on top of that, which when we pointed out there was service already added, he was very rude towards us and his actions were shameful. A lovely evening was spoilt by the actions and attitude of this waiter. As a business with great food, you really need to sort this out as people will not return or recommend you.

One of the least obvious tourist traps I’ve ever came across while traveling abroad. The place looks great, but the food is terrible. The salad was served with the worst dressing( it must’ve been straight up mustard). Read the reviews before going there- there are way better options in the Capital!

We were 2 couples who ate here last night, on the recommendation of the concierge in our hotel (Marriott) and wish we had read the reviews first. The food varied from bland and boring to so-so/edible. The wine was overpriced. But, as with other reviews, the biggest disappointment was the waiter ….. encouraged us to add side dishes (after removing the menus), then snatched the bill away before my husband had a chance to review it, placed the machine on the table and requested a tip …. we realized, too late, a service charge had already been added. $200 for 2 dreadful meals, 2 mediocre meals and 3 glasses of so-so wine. We travel extensively and know our food and wine …. lol …. and this ranked up there as being one of our worst experiences. Not recommended!

We had breakfast there on a quiet morning, seated outside in the sun(before it got too strong). Hubby went for the omelet with cheese, I has scrambled eggs with bacon, sausage and onions. It was served with a variaty of fresh bread in a basket. Excellent coffee, and fresh juice. Service was perfect

We had breaksfast here on our last day in Budapest. The four of us went on a city break back in December and wanted to do some last minute shopping and grab a bite to eat before we hit the road. We chose Cyrano because they had this big breakfast sign outside and we did not regret our choise. We were pleasently surprised by the variety of breakfast dishes, the excellent service and the overall experience. The portions were rather generous, very tasty, made fresh. You should definitely check this gem when in Budapest!

Incredible service and the food was amazing! We had already sat down at two other restaurants before finding this place, and we were so happy we chose here instead. The waiters were very attentive and friendly, and the food was so lovely and reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again!

District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
