Mediocre at best. Soggy, greasy luke warm schnitzel. Ignored complaint- did not offer any remedy. Never thought schnitzel can be ruined like this. Most was left on plate. Sad.

We visited this restaurant with familiy. It was a pleasant stay. We ordered some of the traditional Hungarian meals. They were good, but we expected more. It was around lunch so by the time the meals got to us, they were cold.
Quaint place near Fisherman’s Bastion with lovely outdoor patio. However, the food is mediocre and pricey and they add an automatic 13% service charge. Not to mention they charged for salad dressing for my horribly under dressed salad. When we questioned the charge they just...shrugged their shoulders and said they wouldn’t remove it. They clearly aren’t interested I return guests.More
Fantastic food and welcoming staff. Lovely little find. Would thoroughly recommend if you visit the castle area. The steak was delicious.
Very good food. I had the Hungarian Goulash which was very nice and filling. The iced coffee was perfect for the heatwave! Cool underground caves to eat in as well on the way to the toilets. The staff were very friendly. Highly recommend stopping off...on a hot day but you do need to eat food in order to have a drink.More
Bad food. The snitzel was just a piece of meat with no garnish, the ceasar salad had thousand iland dressing as its dressing and the "dumplings" was pieces of clay. The service was okay but not anything to brag about. I do not reccomend this...resturant.More
I don’t think some of the past reviews reflect either the current serving staff, nor the food offering. On our visits these last few days this restaurant has outshone against a couple of ‘upmarket restaurants around it. The staff were welcoming both times and recognised...us second visit. The food is not fine dining, but didn’t kid itself that it is as some of the others we visited in Buda this visit. It is really good food and is placed well on price in the market it has walking by to the castle and the Basillica and Fisherman’s bastion across the road. We had a veal schnitzel and goulash soup plus a stew, draft beer and a soft drink. The dessert were ok, but currently we haven’t experienced reAlly ‘goo’ puds in Budapest. I really would recommend this restaurant and don’t think you’ll be disappointed.More
Tourist trap. We had ceasa salad and fish soup. No dressing on the salad and the fish in the soup was not eatable, very fat. Extremely expensive for what we got.
Stopped to order a drink while waiting for friends to join me. Was refused seating even though the place was nearly empty. Waiter was extremely rude and mocked me because I was chewing gum. Would not recommend this place.
Friendly and efficient service from the staff, in a convenient spot on Castle Hill, with plenty of outside tables. Decent food. Just what I needed for lunch today.
Visited the Buda Castle and was looking for a Hungarian restaurant. Tried the goulash and paprika chicken and enjoyed a lot. Very nice terrace (views to the Mattias Church). Quick and friendly service. Great experience overall and would recommend if you want to try Hungarian...dishes.More
Arany Hordo is a nice little hole-in-the-wall authentic Hungarian restaurant. The food and service were excellent. I highly recommend the Hungarian Leshko with sausage and the sour cherry streudel with vanilla sauce. Food quality is top notch and the service was fast, professional, and friendly.
Great place to eat. The service was very nice and good. Food came quick and was very delicious. Staff was very nice
Sat outside and we had Very polite waiters, pork ratio to veg was spot on. Cost effective. Would recommend strongly. Slightly too much sauce on the chicken Ceaser which is nothing major
Great traditional restaurant. Great food, friendly and helpful staff can’t recommend highly enough! Fantastic!
