I really wanted to try palacsinta during a recent trip to Budapest and it seems as if this place is very highly regarded in the palacsinta arena. We were trying to squeeze in some food samplings on our last day and this was only meant...to be a snack but ended up being much more because the food was so delicious. We wanted to try both a savory and sweet version so we ordered one of each. I love that they have a bunch of vegetarian options. We wanted to order the pomodoro pancake with cream and spinach and parmesan but this was, unfortunately, not available. Instead, the server suggested the spinach and ricotta pancake lasagna. I was a little bit disappointed because I wanted to get the down and dirty PANCAKE experience but this ended up being absolutely incredible. What would typically be the noodle part of the lasagna was supposedly the pancake but I couldn't really tell. It was so fantastic it didn't really matter. For the sweet pancake, they have so many options it's torture trying to decide. I wanted something different, so we ordered the elderflower cottage cheese cream filled pancake with homemade caramel sauce and honey biscuit crumbs. The portions were gigantic and it was a unique flavor combo but something about it was too much, maybe it was too sweet or the elderflower flavor was too strong. I couldn't eat too much of it before it became overpowering. GF had no problem taking most of it down, however.More
