Surpassed all expectations that were already high. I didn't know my palate was that good. The wine pairing was perfect, they made it fun and interesting and the sommelier was friendly and eager to answer any question or comment

Our evening at Babel included a wonderful 14 course testing menu that was absolutely beyond beyond. Complemented with Hungarian white wine, we embarked in a gastronomique experience that was an amazing experience. As the menu reflects (photo), we enjoyed combinations of fish, meat and vegetables...that were out of this world, justifying the Michelin star designation. Select photos below convey the first several plates of our menu: Buffalo, deer heart; Smoked eel, salmon caviar; and mid-menu, Guinea fowl, asparagus & béarnaise.Impeccable service, wonderful ambience and outstanding food. A night to remember, a visit unsurpassed. We hope to return for another experience. Jerrold and Robin LermanMore

This establishment has a very posh location, nice cutlery and somewhat exciting interior design. Their food however, despite being cooked on a good professional level, does not try too hard to surprise or even please. Wine pairing was a bigger surprise, not in a positive...sense unfortunately - solid supermarket wines priced at 10-15€ bottle on-shelf, poured into the glasses extremely carefully, 8 cl or so - 40€ + taxes for four MINI-glasses did not quit feel fair. Waiters and waitresses know well what to tell regarding the menu but lack personality and do not show interest in their guests.More

There is an instant opulence from the moment you enter the restaurant. We where greeted with etiquette and made very welcome. We requested an outdoor table and was very pleasantly surprised at the instant atmosphere, candles lite all around the outdoor setting with an array of...plants and quality music playing at a volume were you could hear but not intrusive. The food and wine tester menu was amazing and arguably tasted a white wine that was probably the best I have ever had. I made note of the wine and will be on my list of purchases. Each serving had its own personality and both head waiter and Sommelier gave clear intros to the food and wine. A most perfect evening ,four of us dined and all with similar opinions. Well done team Babel.More

We had a lovely night at Babel Budapest with my english friends. It is the perfect decision if you would like to show your foreign friends Hungarian cuisine with a modern twist and fine dining. The atmosphere is really nice, the layout and lighting makes...it feel intimate, no matter where your sit. The waiters were excellent, the food was not just delicious but an experience. A really well balanced menu that takes you on a journey. The recommended wine for each course were just right, one of the best wine selection in Hungary. I really recommend this experience to everyone.More

The best restaurant in town offering meat and fully vegan set degustation menu also! Definitely worth to visit and try both menus, even if you aren’t vegan you should try that option too..amazing! Their signeture dish is the Casino Egg with caviar, a traditional hungarian...dish from everydays table and of course in vegan version too! My personal favourite was the snacks at the beginning and the mushroom consumé! The wine selection is very wide from Europe but they are very strong in hungarian wines! I also tried the juice paring for the menu which was a brand new experience for me. I have never thought that a juice can be so interesting! The restaurant is very nice, well designed and homie like you were in your own livingroom and the staff was professional with us. I have just heard that the terrace is freshly opened! Certainly i will go back and try!More

Absolutely fantastic. The best fine dining restaurant experience we have done. Better than those in the UK! Very personal experience, timings were impeccable and the dishes exceptional. Great to meet and chat with Hubert (restaurant owner) at the end of the meal too. A really...nice personal touch. Highly recommend.More

A fantastic experience. The 14-course tasting menu (just released in connection to the reopening Feb. 1, 2022) with 7 Hungarian white wine pairings was a mind-blowing experience. Classic (foie gras, caviar, truffle, pigeon, guinea fowl), yet truly original (e.g., sea bream in grape juice and...Casino Egg) and the wine pairings were spot on, showing the diversity and quality of Hungarian white. Shows the extra skill of the sommelier and Babel's originality - and audacity to stand out serving only white in the pairing menu. So much care and technical skill was put into the food, the wine pairings - and the ambience and the staff were amazing. Extremely well-run Michelin-restaurant entering the European super league, closer to the level of 2 stars than 1 star. Bravo and our warmest recommendations! We had an outstanding experience at babel. The food is phenomenal, presentation is flawless and service is at its best. We had many food constraints in our group and they have exceeded every expectation to accommodate our requests. Additionally we couldn’t get a taxi to...the bar we had reservation for after dinner and Felix offers to take us over. Such an amazing evening, we can’t wait to come back. Kudos!!!More

This is a nice restaurant and you can feel the Michelin star when you dine there. However I think it's really overpriced and we have been to several Michelin restaurants before. The food is just not worth 250 Euro per person (with wine pairing) before...15% service. We were asked if we celebrated anything, and we told them that it was our wedding anniversary, but during the whole meal, there was no feeling of anything special. So why ask regarding the celebration at all? In conclusion, I would never come back to that restaurant again.More

Not only did Babel provide the best food I believe I have ever eaten, it was unique, thought provoking, and full of personal story and memory. The wines are an all white pairing showcasing a range of boutique Hungarian producers, and we were delighted with...our choice to add on the essencia, a spoon of liquid gold at the end. Beyond the sensational food and wine, the service was astoundingly attentive from the greeting at the door until departure. Every detail was carefully crafted, our servers and particularly our sommelier were highly knowledgeable, and joyfully playful in their presentation and descriptions. We were also fortunate enough to meet the chef on request, and he was very interesting and seemed happy to spend a few minutes in conversation with us, and despite his success he was incredibly humble, even recommending we seek out another chef he admired in Budapest. Having been to a renowned 2* restaurant the week before, we were gobsmacked at how Babel exceeded our every expectation, and I honestly can't imagine that any reviewer would have walked away from the experience we had with any less than 3* firmly fixed in their mind. Our deepest thanks to Veres and the team for a beautiful dinner on our honeymoon, an experience we will treasure, and we will be following your career with great interest. It is nice and relaxed. A little bit fancy, but not in an overwhelming way. It is a nice place to have a delicious dinner with nice service. I only had the experience of a business dinner and we rented the whole place.
