The food here is very cheap and is quite good. Not the best that we ate on Budapest, but nothing was bad. Very warm service and at the end we enjoyed it.
We arrived Saturday night at 21:05 and the guy at the door, literally kicked us out. Great place if you want to waste your time getting there.
Nice cooperative staff and very nice dishesh. Traditional as we imagined it. Very nice ambient. Ask staff about the menu if not sure, we did it and even modified the dishes a bit. The goose liver was amazing.
Great authentic food, excellent service, nice ambiance, I thoroughly enjoyed all three courses and will definitely be back
Experience authentic Hungarian food here. The Golash soup and Chicken paprika with egg noodles were fulfilling. The service was cordial. The restaurant’s decor displayed Hungarian handicrafts. Good value for quality food. I would definitely recommend this eatery.
Best plase to have good hungary dinner 🍽. Cosy and warm welcomed place for visitors of budapest. We liked 👍 services and food . Duck and grilled pork was delicious.
When we arrived the host told us “everything here is good” and he was genuinely right. The wine, the service, the food were all glorious. We tried the Sturgeon starter along with side salads. Main course we opted for Chicken Paprika Noodles and Pork, we...had to order a second round of the cucumber salad side dish because it was so delicious. Wine and dessert were great and the restaurant had a lovely traditional atmosphere. Thank you for a memorable evening!More
friendly waiters very patient and willing to explain the dishes ... duck , chicken and pork were delicious we didn't try goulash here, abundant portions, price quality ratio very good.. 6 of us eate with satisfaction !
One of the sadly diminishing number of traditional Hungarian restaurants (vendéglök) in Budapest. Attractively decorated with folk motifs. Marvellous menu offering all the Hungarian favourites. We had terrific roast duck. With beer and mineral water, the bill came to HUF 8220. Friendly service. Next to...the central market hall.More
This restaurant is definitely one of my fave typical restaurants in Budapest. People are so kind and speaks different languages. Typical dishes taste tupyal and the price is low. Location is cool
As a tourguide I took tourists there to taste food and get a beer many times, but we had sometimes shocking comments from the owner there. I thought he is only a waiter. Once one of my tourist was packing her bag and she put a...small bottle of water to the table (only half full of water) after we paid. We left about 10.000HUF there and the owner said that this bottle was not bought here,so put it away. The style was so arrogant. Yesterday on 23rd April I went there again with 4people. We asked for a table and he said there is no table for 5,as it is reserved. Well,I told him that we can sit at a 4-person table and is it possible that they can put an extra chair to the table. He said no. Then my tourist asked if we could sit separately 2 and 3 at different tables is that an option. He said no. He did not even try to help or be flexible. We left. After the tour I went back to talk with him. I asked how come he behaves like that sending away tourists (they were actually between 65-70years old) if he works in hospitality? We both knew there were 2 free tables. He said he does not need to change. I told him I think he should,as this is not acceptable to be rude, ignorant and rigid. This shows bad hospitality of Hungary.More
This place is lovely and seems a lot more traditional and less touristy than a lot of other places in Budapest. The staff were very friendly and accommodating The chicken ragout soup and chicken pancakes were excellent starters. For the main, my beef lecso was...very tasty but my only word of warning was that I asked for medium cooked and it was borderline raw in the middle. I don't mind meat undercooked like that but it was a bit off putting to my partner. All in all, it was a very nice traditional meal and like most things in Budapest, very reasonably priced.More
Found this place side of the central market tucked away on a side street bearing the same name (Pipe Street). Place decked out in national folklore artifacts similar to Hungarian rooms all over the country the 1989. Breath of fresh air after the western culinary...assault all over this great city. The food was excellent and made to order, if a bit pricey… Ordered chicken paprikash (contrary to popular tourist myths, the national dish, not goulash) and schnitzel smothered in sour cream ( my only reservation) RecommendedMore
On a side street lays a very good Hungarian restaurant, beautiful interior, reasonably priced, great table service and tasty food
