Incredibly crowded and tiny seating space indoors but the queue moved fairly quickly. Lovely interior decor that dates from the 19th century. We had a glass of delicious wine and one cottage cheese and one cherry strudel. Service is quick-fire although once served you’ll have...to flag the waitress or waiter again for attention. Not the friendliest but with this volume of people I wouldn’t be either!More

You step back in time 200 years when you enter this Konditorei. It has a wonderful atmosphere and an old-world cachets! Service is excellent, and the cakes and coffees are luscious. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. It is just steps from Matthew Church...in the Fisherman's Bastion.More

This place was the most ornate coffee shop and the cakes were just delicious not to mention the excellent coffee. The cream cake has to be tried!

When you enter the charming Ruszwurm Cafe, you are transported to a different time—the romantic days of Budapest in the 1800s. So, don't expect sleek and modern, but revel in the fact that places like that still exist. We had chocolate croissants and Esterhazy cake...and they were to die for! The cafe is located in a quiet side street, right next to the gorgeous Castle Hill.More

That atmosphere is unbeatable - magic, beautiful interior with a 19th century Budapest feeling. Old-school deserts, mostly typical Hungarian. Undoubtedly a must visit place in Budapest. But it's too small and it's difficult to have a seat inside.

We stopped here for a hot chocolate and cake on a freezing Saturday afternoon. The cakes were ok, nothing special but the hot chocolate was amazing and its worth a visit just for this. Service was very good and overall an enjoyable experience

The famous deserts served to the kings and queens of the past. The specialty Cream cake is exceptionally tasty. Must see and try in the Castle area.

Well renowned for its scrumptious cakes, this little gem is hidden in the midst of Buda Castle. Only small so you have to queue for either eat in or takeaway but it is worth the wait. The cakes are so tasty that you will want...another. Go on, make a special trip. See the castle then have coffee and cake. It’s well worth it.More

The cakes are frankly very average and nearly every cafe I have been to in France or Italy serves better cakes. However, I guess one goes here because of its nearly 200 year history. The service was generally friendly and the hot chocolate was amazing.

Cakes were alright. I did feel like it‘s a very touristy spot and locals don‘t really go there. I really liked the Hot Chocolate. It‘s a must have - definitely go for the Chocolate.

Not that impressive, neither the wienese caffe, nor the raspberry cake did not convince me :) But the cream cake, somewhat of “cremsnit” for romanians, very good. Nice to hang out nearby Mathias church.
