A cafe on Budapest castle hill which is really popular and often difficult to fit inside. Fortunately, we got inside where all the décor is historic and beautiful. Excellent coffee and cake, this café is also our favorite in Budapest.
When you are visiting Fisher Bastion (Halászbástya), don’t miss the short stroll to the café. You can just look at the beautiful interior and take some Cremeschnitte along, or wait a few minutes in line to sit either inside or outside and enjoy the sweet...More
A very small cafe, 18th century design... Although we had to wait for about 30 min. before we could get in, once you taste the cakes you understand why people are waiting to get in. Definitely worth the wait and the money spent there :-)
Mentioned in all the guidebooks for good reason, this is a cosy and traditional cafe. Very small and usually very busy, but custom moves quite quickly so worth queuing if needs be. In the old city not far from the Buda Tower and St Matthias...More
I with my wife decided to visit this place based on TripAdvisor & google feedback.
We really liked the location, the cafe sits perfectly in cozy street right next to The Fisherman’s Bastion, super touristic place in Budapest.
We’ve ordered 3 cakes: sour cherry strudel...More
Good cream cake but the service was very rude. Girls working there ignored us for about 30 min even after calling them several times to order, then laughed at us and other guests, we waited for the check more than 15 min and there weren't...More
A great little cake shop, I had a blackberry chocolate cake and my husband had a caramel castle cake. Both were delicious! A quaint little cafe with good service and great location. Highly recommended.
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many
events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
