Good ambiance both indoors and out, the deck/garden section great for lunch on a nice day. After a good first impression, we went back again, just to be left disappointed. The wine selection worked for us both times, the food did not. There could be...a different chef working at dinner and lunch or between our two visits, making the food experience very different. Our first dinner was tasty and nicely presented. My mangalitza Schnitzel was tasty and juicy, the potato salad a good fit well executed, the surprisingly miniature cannoli well presented and delicious. The subsequent lunch promised "Fledermaus" (in English, bat ??!!) Schnitzel with a Waldorf salad. The meat in the Schnitzel was so thin it could have even been bat, and totally dried out. The Waldorf salad appeared to consist mainly of julienned parsnips with traces of apple, cemented together with a thick, tasteless pink goo. No nuts, no celery, no other fruits, no light mayonnaise-y dressing. The baked seasonal veg was just pyramid caulies but a competently done gratin. The best part of the lunch was the excellent locally-made lemonade that was very refreshing, being modestly sweetened.More

Nice food and pleasant ambience but the service was so slow and didn’t seem like they were paying attention to customers even though the restaurant was not busy. The food was ok, but there is much better options in Budapest! The zucchini I had with...the fish was bitter and the sour cream ‘foam’ was not foamy at all. Warm home made bread and cheese plate were excellent, though, as was the wine selection.More

We had to wait for our drinks(a beer and a gin tonic) approx 20 minutes. Super slow service. When we got the bill more items were charged twice. When we realised it they gave back the money.

The restaurant was a bit of a disappointment after our last visit: the risotto was raw, the duck chewy, the prices unexpectedly over the roof. Not advising it this time.

This restaurant’s food was really good!! I enjoyed all my courses and I will definitely be back for more!! The reason for the 4 rating is that the restaurant was under staffed and therefore not that efficient. We were a table of 10 and everyone...enjoyed their meal and drinks. I highly recommend Fioka!More

I just love Fióka, its located in a very lush green area, with a very cozy feeling. Staff are awesome, super friendly, professional and welcoming. The food is really tasty, nothing to fault, fresh and decent portions. I love their wine events, which are free...to attend and are very informative. You get to know so many Hungarian wine regions and vineyards. I recommend them so much.More

I spent an unexpected three weeks in Budapest. My husband found Fioka while I was in hospital for a week. We went there for my first night back in the world. I started with a tomato raspberry soup. It was celestial nectar. The lamb was...perfectly cooked, tender and immensely flavourful. We probably returned four more times during our time in the city. The location in the Varosmajor Park was pretty, quiet and a great break from the hectic city. The wait staff were professional and friendly and the management clearly devoted to great food. I recommend this to both locals and visitors. Oh, and it is on Budapest's excellent public transit system.More

Always a pleasure to visit this restaurant, they organize wine tasting events once or twice a month which is a great initiative and helps the participants to get to know more about Hungarian wines. Food is also delightful, staff is friendly so I recommend this...place if you wanna have a pleasant evening.More

Location and interior is fine, but the food is average. Prices are high compare to quality of food. The atmosphere is fine, selection of food is not a large one.

I was there the second time, this time with my wife. Food is good, service is polite. Húsleves + velős csont is a nice combo, however I prefer vegetables a bit less cooked in the soup.

We ate in Fioka again tonite. We come here regularly for the last 5 years, but because we always enjoy it so much we reserve it for special occasions and to go with special friends. Tonite it was just the two of us and the...special occasion was just that we deserved a special treat tonite. The card was new and even old favorites like the Fioka colds cut plate were renewed. As I am rather conservative in my dinner likes I had my doubts but.... different at Fioka is not less, different is just as good. We were very pleased with our visit again and reconfirmed that Fioka is really special. Special food, special service and special atmosphere, I am already looking forward to my next visit.More
