I like Georgian kitchen full of spices and taste. Unfortunately, this restaurant did not provide really good experience: grúz salad was simply tomatoes with cucumbers with some parsley, chicken kebab was almost tasteless and honey cake was miserable size and extremely dry (looks like they buy a cake in the box and then cut it into small pieces pretending this is "home made")
The design and atmosphere of the restaurant could be very nice, but due to poor ventilation all the fried smells from the kitchen comes into. When going home I felt my cloths and hair very smelly. Had to wash it all

This is an interesting restaurant in the CENTER of the city of Budapest. The food is good and the atmosphere too, the service with the tourist is not the typical of Hungary, we order the food, we specifically asked it it was spicy they told us “no” and the reality is that o e of us cannot it basically nothing.
I cannot say it’s a bad restaurant, because the food, despite it was spice was good.

The food is very tasty, aesthetic and one can choose from a very wide range of varieties. The tastes are authentic, the dishes are fresh and attractive. The service is spotless, very polite, not pushy, but still friendly, very professional and helpful (in three languages at least: Hungarian, English, Russian). We enjoyed our dinner a lot. As leaving the restaurant, a cook was having his break outside, and as he was seeing that we are looking for taxi he immediately offered that he calls us a cab on his phone. In two minutes were in the car, he even escorted us to the car. This was a unique and amazing sign of hospitality and customer-focus, it was so natural kindness, that we were just smiling in the car, that this still exists in the world. :)

I've now lived in Georgia for 5 years and love their food and thought would be a treat to take my family and friends to visit this Georgian restaurant in Budapest. This is a restaurant that serves Georgian food but not a Georgian restaurant.
The food was tasty, but the whole experience was spoilt by the terrible air quality coming from the kitchen. I am a smoker and work in a smokey environment but this was absolutely terrible. Eyes watering and even difficulty to breath decently. I don't even want to talk about the smell of clothes. I read one review mentioning this but thought they were exaggerating. They weren't....
To say I was embarrassed taking the people there is an understatement.
Service. The waitress was very pleasant but some of the food was very late coming. Also in georgian restaurants they change your plates regularly and pay attention to you (and service in georgia is normally very bad), but here plates were put on table and even though we had different courses plates were never changed. Wine glasses were never topped up, table was not cleared while we finished certain foods. Basically take your order put food on table and you are on your own.
Terribly disappointing. Only the flavour of the food saved the day, a little.

My fiancee and me organized a party for a group of 30 friends at Hachapuri. The food was great (as usual) and we also received a great service. We got a waiter dedicated to our group, Bence, who was really attentive and helpful throughout the dinner.

What a lovely experience. We had never had Georgian food before and tried a sharing plate for two. A cold plate appeared with two different types of dip, and eggplant, salad and pita bread. Then a deep cheese pie came that was simply heavenly ooey gooey! The portions were large, and there was no way to eat it all! The main plate showed up with pork ribs and grilled veggies. Then Dumplings fully loaded with beef and lamb meat, mushrooms, spinach and cheese. I would come back to taste these again; a new take on potstickers, and the fresh pasta was a real treat! Lastly there was two different types of desserts to try; one a dumpling filled with hazelnut cream and sour cherries which they said was very unique to Georgia, and a walnut layered cake with a slight waffery flavour. I am not a sweet-tooth by any means, but both ticked the boxes of just the right amount of sweet and tasty.
The total experience was very nice; new flavours like tarragon with ground walnuts, beetroot dip, fresh BBQ slow roasted, perfect pita bread (and I mean perfect!) and that cheese pie to die for! The leftovers we gave to our full grown teens for them to try who devoured them in seconds flat!
Thanks for making our wedding anniversary special during quarantine. The one side of the terrace was all ours! <3

We were 26 in that restaurant so I could try many things.
Unfortunately, contrary to the exciting names and the look of the food, there was no course I found exceptionally delicious.
Maybe the Imeruli was something special, but I found nothing interesting in the Hinkali, the vegetables and the sauces, and the meat (stew and pork ribs) were chewy even.
Deserts were great like in most restaurants nowadays.
Apart from the initial issues with the seatings, we were well looked-after, I liked the service.
However, the ventilation is awful and there is smoke in the whole area as the kitchen is in a partly open space.
Also, the toilets need serious renovation and extension! Quality doesn't match the price point in this aspect.
All in all, this is not the average cuisine, hence the very high prices, but it is just not worth it in my opinion.

We are originally from Georgia we were born there now came from Israel. Visited twice day after day at the same restaurant and made a reservation for tomorrow for the third day before leaving to take from here the flavor with us.
Yesterday we had spinach salad and chinkali with beef and today chachpuri imeruli and acharuli all made quickly and fresh even though the restaurant was fully booked the service is excellent they are very sympathetic and welcoming staff we once were full with food so they offered us to cancel one dish even they already made it.
The dishes are fresh made and brought us back to our homelands it was a really special experience! The music is great combined with the atmosphere the wine and beers were great too. At the lunch time between 12-16 pm there is no problem of place but after four you better make a reservation
We warmly recommend visit several times the restaurant and enjoy the various meals and food there everything was delicious and superb service!
Marina and Aharon from Israel
Thank you and regards !

I went out with my friend and we wanted to try something new. We’ve chosen this restaurant but never again. The quality and amount of the food was poor as well as the appearance and not adequate to its price. I’ve ended up having huge stomach ache throughout the night. Definitely do not recommend.

We came to this restaurant with a lot of expectations, because we are familiar with the georgian food and how delicious it can be! Once arrived, they placed us downstairs in the area with the awful toilet smell that you can already smell when you walk down the stairs. When we asked if we can sit upstairs, the hostess told us we cant because “everything is reserved”, we also had reservation? Its not that we didnt have one. We convinced ourselfs that food can change our mind and we should stay positive. Once food arrived, chicken grill was half old half fresh, hachapuri with egg and cheese was probably the only thing that was good. The grilled meat was too salty and old. They asked us “how was food “ and we gave our honest opinion that we were not happy actually. They didnt bother to ask what dish and why and just gave us the pin to pay. So i don’t recommend this restaurant, they are a lot of much better restaurants!

It's best if you make a reservation here just to be safe. At least around holidays as they were almost fully booked on Friday evening but we still got a table for 5 which was great.
We were greeted by friendly staff and were served by two lovely waiters. They mixed some drinks up with another table but it was no big deal really.
The food was great, especially we all liked the cheese pie and the prices are reasonable. It's a little different than your normal day to day food so I'd recommend you to check it out.
There is also a 13% serving fee added to your bill so just be avare that you'll pay a little extra.

I was a tourist in Budapest (originally from Russia) and like a real lover of Georgian cuisine I had to find a good restaurant. Khinkali were good, especially with potatoes. Shashlyk was surprisingly juicy.
Lemonade Saperavi that I love so much is made from syrup here and that is why looses its intense taste. The dessert Medovik was like in my childhood

We never got our food!!!!!!!
We are a couple who are food bloggers on instagram and wanted to compare the two Georgian food restaurants after all the reviews; Tifliso and (K)hachapuri.
We ordered wine and dinner. We got the wine (nice Georgian wine) and waited for the food for 40 mins and it never came. The waiter forgot the order and the kitchen didn't know about it. After inquiring, they told us that we have to wait for 15 more minutes (everyone was clueless). We left the restaurant without having our dinner as we had timed our 'date night' with the babysitter who had to leave as well on a set time.
How unprofessional can one be?
Tifliso was great by the way!!!!!!

Really disappointed with this place. From the outside facade and the inviting menu and interior, we thought we had happened upon a nice place, but how wrong we were.
My daughter ordered Harcho & Elarji while I ordered the Duck.
Her food was served at least 10 minutes before mine and she being mannerly, waited until my food was served. By the time it was, her dish was gone cold and my duck came to the table Luke warm and tougher than was edible. In addition to coffee, a bottle of water and a glass of wine that took ages before someone came to take the order, the bill came to 26995 Ft, including an undeserving 15% service charge.
Yes, I was given a complimentary cappuccino to 'make up' for the unsatisfactory experience, but that was too little too late.
I try not to leave negative reviews but to add insult to injury, we were left waiting again for at least 10 minutes for our bill when we asked for it and at that point the restaurant was not as busy as earlier.
I have no problem paying for good service and tasty, warm food, but when you receive neither but still get hit with a hefty bill, it does leave a bitter taste in your mouth, albeit not as bitter as the experience we had in Hachapuri.

Georgian food is amazing - one of the great cuisines yet to be widely discovered and Hatchapuri does it well. Well enough for us to eat two night running despite service issues on the first night - caused, it would, seem by having too few cooks for the number of diners... The second evening was quieter and much better organised all round.
I just couldn't give then 5 stars after the problems on the first evening, but I would urge you to try this restaurant and the great food of Georgia
