While this place at first seemed pleasant enough for a cold day, it gets a 1/5 for rude service. The canned music was loud, with the speaker nearest my table, and I asked the waiter if he could turn it down a bit. Most places,...of courses, accommodate such requests (not least so they might get a tip). The waiter’s answer at this place? ‘No’.More

We ended up in this restaurant because we could not find seating in another one close by (won't tell it's name :P) but there was no room for regrets! We had an excellent fish soup hungarian style and some traditional potatoes and fried chicken. The...only thing that makes it 4 stars and not 5 is the bathroom which is not that clean (I confirm what I read in some previous reviews) and the fact that service was already on the bill and we were not told so we ended up tipping over 20%. But this is their fault just as much as it was ours who did not look on the receipt. All in all, a good place!More

Amazing food, we had chicken papricas and beef stew (guyas) and it was the most tasty dish of paprikas and guyas that we ever had! Coffee is also good, very pleasant location and nice staff! Prices are also modest for the dish quality!

Coming with a friend, each of us with a baby. Had to go to the bathrooms so I’ve ordered a coffee to not be rude(fast espresso). But only if I knew !! Firstly the toilets were dirty, with no paper , I got stuck in...one! and the hand dryer didn’t work (do not expect any paper on side). My friend had a store brought drink with herself (a can) and some food for her kid. She’s been called out for them, by both waiters. One of them stood so her side was completely touching mine!! While saying things to my not Hungarian speaking friend in Hungarian such as “I don’t care, put your opened can into your purse!” . So my friend left me to watch her kid too and went away to drink it. When I went inside to pay for my coffee with card , I have been told “it’s the last time..” as so I should be thanking him for being able pay by card! And he repeatedly said he’s fee is too high for making my purchase profitable and that this is a restaurant not a store! So I apologised for having a drink and he laughed. While I was leaving the doors I heard him shouting very rude things about us!More

Have been a regular here on visits to Budapest for at least 15 years - service still good but food seems expensive now for what it is, and I hate service charges even though I would leave a larger tip if there wasn't one. I'll...keep coming but I'm conscious other places may offer better value - not that it's particularly a consideration (I'm not comparing it to McDonalds) but I'm aware of it.More

We came here with my girlfriend for dinner, the service was nice, the food fresh and delicious. We had goulash soup, cheese gnocchi, Hungarian perkelt and as a dessert an excellent cottage cheese dumpling. All at relatively low prices.

Not cheap or good food. Took 45 minutes for food to arrive despite asking waiting staff twice. Food was bland and bill was €23 for 2 small meals

We shared a wooden platter for 2 people amongst 3 of us and we could not finish it! All food on the platter was fresh appetizing and delicious. The price was very reasonable, the service efficient and very friendly. Clean washrooms. Recommend it if you...are in the area, but do not travel across town for it, as there are many others like it. A good choice if you visited any of the nearby art museums and the Heroes Square.More

Basic Hungarian menu served in 'nostalgic' surroundings with old menus and decoration from communist times. A good neighbourhood place if you are nearby - nothing special but reliable and straightforward food.

Tasty, hungarian food with very big portions. Prices are quite reasonable. Basically, this restaurant serves one of the best food in Budapest in my opinion. The staff speaks English, what is helpful too. I noticed one drawback-the restaurant is very dirty and fuggily inside.

We we're visiting friends in Budapest and they recommended this restaurant, we ate here on our first day, the food was delicious, we had the Rindsgulasch (the soup) and the Breaded chicken with cheese and spicy butter. The staff was very nice and spoke English....And we came back our last day, although it was quite far from our place, and had the Rindsgulasch (the stew) and the Pork cutlet with garlic, again the food was great! We ate outside, as inside was a little too warm for us, but the locals didn't seem to be bothered by it. While in Budapest we ate at other restaurants too, but here was the best food! Also the prices are fair. Would recommend the Rindsgulasch, both types :)More

Easy to access / parking in front of the restaurant. Very friendly personel and good service. Our meals were prepared quickly and it was TASTY. Very reasonable prices too ! The only downside was that the restaurant had no aircondition so it was much too...hot inside for us from the north. There were tables outside by the road which was good for us.More
