The interior looks like a modern art gallery, with all sorts of bizarre objects hanging on the walls and on the ceiling. The food is ok. It could be more artsy looking, to match the decor.

A great place to visit on your own to chill and relax or with friends and family. The stag are great, cocktails are good and the food last time was very good. See you soon, probably tomorrow as I am in the city :-) one...More

Obviously wanted to visit a ruin bar on our visit to Budapest. We researched some before going but when we past by them they were full of tourists and were very rowdy and loud. We finally stumbled upon this ruin bar and it was a...More

I am conflicted on this review... One one hand, from the decor and atmosphere - this IS my kind of place. Totally a space I would come to for a cup of coffee, a strong drink, to take time to write, meet with friends. Such...More

I didn't expect to go to a fine dining restaurants and so I was not disappointed when I found a cluttered little cafe screaming with oddities and decor literally coming at you from the walls, I loved it. The coffee I had was hot and...More

We went to this bar during day time, but even then it was an interesting bar to visit. The prices were reasonable and there even a few tables outside on the street.

Part of Budapest's ruin-pub scene, Csendes really offered good burgers (I had a duck burger with a marmalade sauce), good beer and good service at a great price. If you're going with bad company, or it gets too noisy to talk, the quirky decor (picture...More

This bar became our ‘local’ for the three nights we stayed, and we had a few nice beers there. The first night, the barman/waiter was very welcoming, and a nice, friendly waitress served us the last night. It’s quirky with a surreal twist (like the...More

The place is just weird, the decoration is simply crazy; a leg coming out of the wall, scartching on the walls, dolls here and there, you might think it s creepy but the whole is nice. The price are very low, the staff is very...More

This is an iconic place of the neighborhood. The hot mess of the interior is borderline genius. The selection range is wide, you can either drop in for a "retro cocoa drink" and have an artisan beer in the evening. I also love the bistro-like...More

District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube,
with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The
Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica
stand out as two of the finest examples of
architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for
more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval
city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while
the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention

In 2008 Csendes "re-opened" it's gates at 13 Museum boulevard, in its older days it was working as a Transylvanian restaurant. The new interior, the constantly changing music and programs, the huge selection of beverages and the flush of youth gives the spirit of the place. Only one block away from Astoria and Kalvin Square, at daytime working as a cafe, at night it turnes into a teeming bar for all ages and stlyes, where even the regulars find something new they haven't noticed yet. The intense and colorful interior, the finely mixed cold and warm premium drinks, the various programs are ideal for young and older, girls and boys, for those who want to meet new people, alone, alltogether, for small and bigger companies, for gatherings, with mom or dad, boss, colleague, wife or husband, lover, actually for everyone..
