The flavor and freshness of the fish served at Halkakas is just too good to describe. We shared the fish and chips (best so far in Budapest) and a gyros plate - both impeccable! Didn’t think it was possible to have seafood like this in...Budapest, will be back many times! Definitely a must goMore

As a pescatarian, I would say that they make one of the best fish & chips in the city. I love the portion size, taste, and all the ingredients.

Top marks for this restaurant! The food is delicious, the service is spot on and the design of this place is awesome. If you're looking for Hungarian cuisine that's not your standard goulash or chicken paprikash then make a b-line for this amazing seafood restaurant....The menu is written in both Hungarian and English, and the waitress is happy to offer suggestions if you're struggling to choose a dish to try. You can't go wrong with a mouthwatering traditional Fish Stew, however with tasting platters and meals with a modern twist, there's plenty of options worth tucking into. I was super impressed by this establishment. Not only does the food taste great and the atmosphere is wonderful, but their attention to detail and clear sustainable efforts makes this restaurant the perfect dining out choice. They source their fish from the best local fisheries and are consciously environmentally friendly. We had a truly positive experience here and would not hesitate to return!More

We were looking for a different experience food wise & both love fish. This restaurant is an excellent choice, I had the fish terrine to start which not only look superb the taste was sensational & my husband had the fish soup which was on...the specials board, again presentation & taste exceptional. Our main courses one of which was the sturgeon with pea risotto & mix fish platter, with cabbage & mashed sweet potato were both so tasty & looked as good as they tasted. The service & ambiance was just to our taste, highly recommend if you are foodies.More

We have eaten here twice in the last week once for lunch and once for dinner. both meals were excellent, in particular the fish and chips we had for lunch, really succulent in lovely crisp batter, and I'm a good judge as I live near...the sea in the UK! Try the fish and chips but ask for potato wedges instead of french fries, they are delicious as well!More
