We where a group of 11 and had a very nice time by Petrus. The food where exelent. Really nice tasts, and good food. French style. Our vegetarian friend was not so satisfyed, They where not so flexible in making a vegeterian dish. The interior is nice, funny and Cousy, and we loved the place.

We have visited Petrus on a number of occasions and it never disappointed us.
I do love the place not only because the atmosphere is friendly, the food is excellent but also I have sentimental memories of it: I was about to give birth to my son when we visited it for the first time.
I thought that it would be a fantastic place to celebrate my 50th birthday there with our families. And so we did.
The food was delicious, a wonderful culinary experience to young and old family members. Mr. Chef was kind enough to prepare French fries in his own, innovative style to my 5-year old who was mad about it.
They didn't forget about the occasion we were celebrating, so, I got a little candle on my desert. Which was very thoughtful.
We paid with a credit card, no fuss about it.
We look forward to visiting Petrus again, soon.

My husband and I went to the restaurant with my parents, due to their recommendation from an earlier visit. The food was amazingly delicious and the staff very friendly, outgoing and with a good sense of humour, servicelevel and conduit. We enjoyed our visit in the restaurant very much and want to thank you for a wonderful culinary experience on our last night in Budapest.

Chose this restaurant due to its venue. Had high hopes that it is going to be a unique culinar experience. I wish I read the reviews earlier! It is all in there. The place was a major disappointment. Food was mediocre to say the least. It was nicely created, but lacking the taste and the surprise. Bread as a starter was dry and cheap quality. French onion soup tasted like soaked bread without seasoning. The fish was dry and tastless. Service was even worse. The waitress was unattentive, even rude. Never came to ask if we wanted anything. It was an effort to catch her attention. We felt like the uninvited, unwanted guests at a distant relative. Not one smile, not a personal touch, not a gesture.
At the end the bill came. It was the biggest shock. Very-very expensive compared to the quality and the location. They even charged a heavy service fee for the zero service, Moreover a complete nonsense exchange rate is used with cirka 30-35% margin. In case you don’t have local currency avoid this place or you will be ripped off completely. We left very disappointed and will surely never return.

We chose this restaurant because of having Bib Gourmand title. The whole place is very eclectic. The waiter was unintelligent. The bill was incorrect. After complaining they corrected it without any sorry. Alltough the food was not bad, but not as valued before.

Delicious food, everything we ordered was excellent. Lovely atmosphere, the staff was very helpful and friendly. In contrast to previous comments credit cards accepted. Highly recommend. Absolutely worth the value. Extraordinary gastro experience.

We love this restaurant and it's environment but mostly the exquisite food when we want to have a special dinner. Or waiter was highly qualified and very friendly.

We chose the restaurant since it was close to where we stayed. A quick search on TripAdvisor, and there we were. The place looks very nice, resembling a French bistrot. Great attention to details, they even have a classic Citroen inside.
The menu is 100% French, not many choices but the food is pretty good.
The waiter seemed nice at first, he even changed our beers(which were stale).
We did not have Hungarian currency with us and they didn’t accept card payments so we asked to pay cash, in euro(informed the waiter about this since we sat at the table).
Once we got the check we observed a strangely high figure on it, and checking the parity, we noticed a very high exchange rate from forints to the euro(this meant more than 35% of the bill).
Observing the incoming rip off we decided to use a nearby ATM and get some local currency.
We informed the waiter (I assume he is the owner, but I am not very sure) so me and my friend went to the ATM, while our wives remained at the restaurant. While zipping their coffees, the waiter suggested they can clean the dishes to cover the charge... Unacceptable, boorish behavior.
We returned in 10 minutes and paid cash but this guy did not come to say goodbye... probably he was sad his attempt of rip off did not go as planned.
The food was ok, but the service is at the lowest level I have ever met. Never have I encountered such an arrogant and rude waiter.

The recommendations on the place were excellent and the reality confirmed the recommendations.
The place is nicely decorated, the atmosphere good, the food excellent.
The service was a little slow but quite reasonable.

An excellent experience. We turned up without a booking it wasn’t a problem the staff were friendly and helpful. We had read the reviews but it didn’t quite prepare us for how good it was. All our food was very good, especially the beef cheek which we washed down with a good Hungarian Pinot noir. I personally thought it was good value, in the uk I would expect to pay half as much again for a meal of this quality
