Overpriced and rude staff

Waiters are rude, food and drink overpriced and not consistent with quality. Music is too loud even at 5pm already that you cannot have a conversation. And when asked to turn volume down a bit the answer was “ this is how the owner wants it”...i am wondering who they think the customer is!? Owner or the guest who is paying for the service??? Its too bad, because the place itself really nice inside and outside, however they could improve cleanliness of bathrooms especially in these days.

Let's start with the positive. The space is funky and had a great vibe on arrival with a dj playing music. The food was OK and not expensive, the Humus and dips were good but there was nothing in the way the food tasted that made you go wow. A number of dishes seemed over cooked and the emphasis seemed to be trying too hard to be contemporary over taste. The service was polite but not attentive. Nobody checking if things were OK which may have been due to them being stretched. The person serving was always helpful when they finally arrived. The weirdest thing was that as we had booked online we had already paid 10,000 per head. We had a family not turn up as unwell (sensible in these times) so the 150000 deposit covered the cost of our meal for ten. A number of us had KIOSK gift cards given us. I assumed that the deposit was understandably so that we turned up for the space we reserved. However we couldn't use the gift cards as they wouldn't refund the credit card and let us use the Kiosk cards as payment This was really annoying.

Fab food, wine and lovely service

I was visiting Budapest for a long weekend with 5 girlfriends and ate in Kiosk on 2 occasions it was so good! The staff are really welcoming, helpful and friendly. The location is great, being so close to the river and the interior is beautifully fitted out. The food menu is eclectic with a mix of traditional Hungarian food and burgers etc. I would highly recommend the whole roast cauliflower. The wine and cocktails are excellent-I would recommend the Hungarian Riesling which was delicious and great value.

Bad trick or????

We have been in this place few times in last few weeks and ever time we met the same scenario. While entering restaurant host is asking if we want to eat or drink, after reply we want to eat she is saying that kitchen will be closed within 10-15 minutes ( i was 4:30 pm !!!!) We accepted and entered restaurant but than we saw other people coming (30minutes after us and later) and still they could order some food. I don't know what is the reason of this but I think it's kind of pressure to order fast eat and go tom make place for other clients! While when you go to restaurant you want to seat relax and gave a good time. Honestly today was last time we went there (despite of nice food) as I don't like to feel like a fool.

Nice place, but overpriced and poor service, no protective measures against COVID 19

Fried cheese for 12 euros, a glass of the cheapest wine for 4 euros is too much. Plus service fee 12%, I thought the staff should be paid by the owner not the guest. Inside de place, there are no protective measures against the virus COVID 19, all staff talk to close to guests without any masks (at the entrance and at the table), the waiter speaks without a mask over my food plates... I don't recommend it, though it's usually quite full due to the great central location.

AWFUL. Service from start to finish was not good. Food was mediocre. Paid for a meal for 2, & immediately after finishing our food we were continuously asked to leave our table. They denied us the possibility to split the bill or pay through Zsep kartia even when both methods were confirmed to us when we asked while were ordering our food.

Sat down at 8:30 with reservations for my wife and I and the atmosphere was beautiful. Service began minimally attentive and devolved into totally unaware. Waitress said the day had been long and a lack of staff was frustrating things, I understood and had empathy for the situation. She was clearly tired and probably overworked. Then the food came and it wasn’t great, portions and menu seemed cheap and small for attempts at inventiveness but this also resulted in a heavily marjoram spiked pasta dish my wife was surprised by and simply didn’t like at all, couldn’t eat. Three meager pieces of overcooked dry chicken rested atop like an insult. I asked if it could be replaced with a different choice and the waitress declined. This seemed to me completely inappropriate from any normal standard of a fairly expensive restaurant , anywhere. Suffice it to say we cut the meal short and departed, which took a very very long time just to get the bill and go. A painful experience honestly.

Avoid at all cost!!!

The place was super cold as all the doors were kept open, so the servers can access the outdoor area easily. Inside, guests have been moving around and wearing their coats trying to avoid catching a cold. After our starters and a soup, nothing happened for about 50 minutes. When asked about our food for the second time, the waiter said soon, 5 minutes. I was doubtful as it felt like they forgot, so asked again and he said 5-10. I asked him to check for sure as if it's 10 or more, we would like to skip the main course and leave. He came back after quite a while and said it would have been more than 10. After waiting another 10 minutes for the check, we starting getting dressed and moving towards the host's counter where they were trying to get our bill together. They said they have deleted the caesar's salad "as well" which was very reassuring as we never got it. ROTFL When receiving the bill, they said they have given us a 10% discount (how generous) but the service charge was still there. After about 15 minutes of struggle, we have been able to leave paying about HUF 10K for a ruined Sunday family lunch.

Two star review I’m afraid. The location of the restaurant is excellent, beautiful looking from the outside but once you get in you may experience the same as what myself and partner did. Rude and unfriendly staff. Not even a smile from the girl taking our order, then my meal was delivered 1st, we waited a further 10 minutes before we could get the attention of the waitress to see where my partners meal was and she blurted out “its coming” and walked off! A further 10 minutes later his meal arrived and mine was finished or it would of been cold. No checks from staff during this time to see if everything was ok or an offer of a drink. We looked around and staff seemed stressed. Not a good vibe from here, other restaurants in the area offer better service and nice staff. The food was decent it’s just a pity about the staff. Advice- smile and pay attention to your clients it’s not that hard.

Bad food and service

The restaurant is fashion, but the service and food is poor. We had dinner for 5 people, at 20:15, we chosed starters and main course. The main courses arrived little by little, which forced some to start eating before others. After the main course was finished at 22:00, we ordered desserts, and were informed that they no longer serve as the kitchen was closed. Really ?!? the manager didn't solve anything and didn't even have the delicacy to pay any attention. Beware, this restaurant charges an extra 12.5% commission on the menu as a service charge.

Slow service and food wasn’t good

Sadly wouldn’t recommend. We arrived and waited 30 minutes before being able to order a drink, service was incredibly slow so not good if you’re in a hurry. We both ordered the duck and it was so tough, impossible to cut so ended up leaving it and just eating the sides. Not good quality, have heard it’s good for drinks and the cocktails were definitely okay but the meal wasn’t worth the price. Overall service and food was poor, would like to think it was just an off night but based on our experience, wouldn’t recommend considering the huge range of choices in Budapest

Terrible service, sad experience

Me and my girlfriend went here for our last dinner in Budapest and it was an absolute disappointment. The service was terrible! We had to wait 45 minutes before someone took our order and we could have something to drink. Our meals came more than 10 minutes apart, so I was halfway finished before my girlfriend's meal came. Then we waited a very long time, but nobody came to clean our table. We tried to get a waiter to our table, but they professionally made it look like they didn't see us, even though waiters regularly passed our table. We were almost at the point of leaving without paying when finally someone came. The waiters were very rude and didn't care whether or not we were having a good time. I would understand this if they were terribly understaffed, but there were a lot of waiters and they even had time to dance to the music with each other. The food itself was ok but not nearly good enough for the price. I had the burger, it tasted fine but it was rather small and the few fries it came with were disappointing. There are dozens of places in Budapest with way better burgers for lower prices. My girlfriend had the steak and here the same story, really depressing. The meat was of poor quality, it was small and a quarter of it was chewy fat. The rest of the plate consisted of two small potatoes and 2 pieces of bell pepper. I understand that they want to deliver refined food, which would justify the smaller portions, but then the food needs to be of high quality, which it was not. They really promote their location and atmosphere and it's understandable why. The building and terrace are really nice, but with the rude staff, the atmosphere was a bit depressing. The terrace is also terribly lit, the tables farther away from the building actually used phones to get a bit of light. Overall it was a sad experience to end our trip this way. TLDR: Don't go there!! Terrible and rude service, disappointing food and atmosphere, you pay just for the location.

Ok food but terrible service

Honestly, this place is enraging. We were seated, waited over 10 minutes for someone to show up after we waived them down to order. They brought our food and then didn't appear again for an hour. When we were finally able to get someone to order desert they told us that the kitchen was closed. We could have had desert if a server bothered to show up or anyone took responsibility for individual tables. Honestly, I hate this place. But the food was ok so 2 stars. Also no COVID restrictions, the staff wasn't wearing masks, no distancing.

Very friendly, flexible and laidback staff. We were served by Viktor, a cheerful and amicable guy. His recommended food was tasteful and gorgeously prepared (I ordered beef tartare, carbonara and lava cake). I love finishing with cheese - that wasn’t on the menu, but we got an exquisite cheese plate served nonetheless without any hiccups. Really recommend this place, *****

Overall I like the place, but yesterday the service was terrible and not because they were busy, but even like that as a guest I should not have an experience like this. Our salad was late about 40 minutes from the rest of the foods, the waitress was completely incompetent at the end we wanted to pay 1 title by card, as we were a group of 9. It took about 30 minutes for them. The manager who tried to "handle" our problems at the end was a disaster. Rude, with a don't care attitude... The only thing which I would like to highlight is that the food and the drinks were delicious. Otherwise the service staff has to be trained how to make an atmosphere to meet the level of guest experience you would like to have in such places.
