We wandered past on a weekday afternoon and got lured into Patmos cafe by the smell of coffee and the delicious looking cakes. Once inside, I was tempted into getting a burger and a glass of wine. I saw someone else with a burger and couldn't resist. The burger was incredible; it was handmade, perfectly cooked and served on a... More

Very tasty sandwich in an extreamly clean restaurant cakes looked good as well. Staff very helpful and speak English so no language problems. I would have visited again for coffee and cake but it's our last day, wish I had found this Cafe earlier in our stay.

We stopped off for a coffee and ended up having a sandwich. The sandwich was a large crusty bagette packed with ham, cheese and salad. All freshly prepared. Excellent service and spotlessly clean. The cakes looked delicious but gave them a miss as we were eating out later! Food was really reasonable.

Had a lovely cup of tea and a sandwich that was much needed at the time. Now! Felt energized to continue exploring Budapest, also thanks to the great service we enjoyed here. Staff is very friendly and eager to help.

My husband and I had lunch here twice whilst staying for a week in Budapest over Christmas. We couldn't believe the value. The first time we went we had one beer, one DELICIOUS chocolate milk shake and two so-called mini burgers. We were so full and the bill came to £9. on our second visit, we had the same drinks... Deliciously rich hot chocolate at a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend as a place to sit out of the cold for a little bit. Staff are very friendly too!

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
