Another boutique artisan chocolate maker in Budapest! This one is near the Great Synagogue - so perfect to stop and buy before or after your tour. Many unusual/exotic flavors. And about 1/2 the price of similar chocolates back in NYC. (They don't sell bars. Just...More

Price is around 250 huf for a piece. It is a bit expensive for Budapest and i had much better at that price. If you are in the neighborhood its ok to go and have a try.

The artisan chocolates are good but @ 100 euros / kilo they are a little more expensive than similar quality chocolates in Western Europe which kind of defeats the purpose of buying them in Hungary. The cocoa was very tasty and more reasonably priced and...More

Just lucked into finding Zangio and the experience was a highlight of our trip to budapest (along with the baths, wine fest, and 1/2 marathon). We sampled different flavors, like smoky tea and spicy banana, and had a wonderful conversation with the owner/chocolatemaker. I walked...More

Zangio’s it turns out, was the amalgamation of Zoltans name and his wife and daughter’s Angi and Olga. Only Zoli was in the day we arrived, but his personality was enough to fill the tiny chocolaterie to bursting, as he went on to talk with...More

Try out the hand-made chocolates at Zangio - you can usually taste one or two pieces before you buy and our only issue was trying to decide which ones to bring home with us. These are definitely special occasion chocolates - not to be gulped...More

Zangio is a small chocolatierie at the up-and-coming old Jewish quarter of Budapest. The area, part of which was once a ghetto, is now bustling with restraurants, some of them (but not this one, but we did eat "Jewish Chocolate" made to resembel a cake...More

Just behind the great synagogue there is a tiny lovely shop with great professional pralines that are hand-made. There are special flavors like onion or chili, I've especially loved the "Flodni" praline and the "friend of wines" one but all the other flavors were really...More
