It is a fun place to go. Especially good for large groups. All the meals served are good. It is both good to sit outside or in. It's location will keep you busy as you watch the street, but interior design is also nice. It is a mixture of an American and Hungarian style. You can stop even only for... More

We had a quick lunch here during our trip in Budapest and it was a lovely time. The food was delicious, the waiters were knowledgeable and funny, and the restaurant has a lovely environment within a great hotel.

I am staying at the Kempinsky. Tired I've decided to eat at the hotel restaurant: ES bistro. I've taken a grilled avocado appetizer and a simply amazing 21 days aged rib eye. That was one of the tendernest and tastiest of my "career". Good job!!

Charming ambience and good quality food with an extensive wine list. We managed to have our last dinner in the city here as we were staying at the Kempinski, before leaving for the airport.

I had a very nice meal at Es Bisztro on a recent trip to Budapest. The menu is diverse, featuring Hungarian classics, or options that are "inspired by classics", along with less "exotic" things like Burgers, Steaks, and such. The food was excellent, service was friendly and attentive. Prices were a bit high (by Budapest standards) but overall I would... More

This restaurant is really trendy, we got inside thanks to the shown menu, when we eat here we were really well served and the dishes were really good, we were so happy we came back another time, in the city centre and with good compromise price food.

Whilst staying at the Kempinski we visited this restaurant a few times for dinner and it was excellent. We opted for the Hungarian Charcuterie platter for starter and the baby chicken and lamb chops for mains, which was very tasteful and cooked to perfection. The staff were very attentive and helpful with the wine selection. Can't recommend this place enough.

Description
Az ÉS egy laza magyar vendéglő és pecsenyesütöde, ahol a hagyományos éttermi formai megkötésektől mentesen is jól érezheted magad sörözés, borozás, beszélgetés közben falatozgatva. A klasszikus magyar fogások mellett izgalmas falatozós ételeket alkottunk, emellett húsokat, halakat grillezünk. A már ismert monarchiabeli ételek, különleges grillek ÉS falatok mellett izgalmas bor- ÉS kézműves sörválaszték vár. ***Wine bar, beer pub, terrace, bistro, restaurant, brasserie. In ÉS you don’t need to have traditional dishes and follow dining traditions. The menu has three separate parts: nibbles to share, typical dishes of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and grilled meat and fish. A unique, unconventional wine and beer selection rounds off this delicious gastro experience. Breaking with the formality of dining traditions, i.e., the sequence of starter, main course and dessert, guests can have nibbles while enjoying a glass of wine or beer. Night and day. With friends and family.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
