Excellent wines, good food (very boring), good service. It is always too crowded and I have the feeling like at the next tables people sit with us so if your wish is an intimate rendezvous that is not the best choice.

We read about this wine bar and was easy to find at the end of the tram line 2. We didn't know what to order and the very helpful manager organized a tasting and also some small bites and a panini for sharing. The wine...introduction provided us with a brief overview of the wine regions in Hungary and every wine recommendation was chosen to represent the key aspects of the area. The price was very reasonable and the quality of the food was very good. We were there around lunchtime and spent 2 hours enjoying the food and wines. So if you are around the parliament area and need a nice place to chill and rest from sightseeing, this is a great place to stop by.More
Perfect spot to have a glass of well chosen vines! Visiting this place for the second time, cozy and spiritual. I would advise Drop Shop to my friends visiting Budapest
I come here few times a year. I always find the service excellent. The staff is particularly keen to talk about the wine they serve. Tonight a had a cheese board with white wines from Mount Etna and Mount Vesuvius. They were excellent. The cheeses...were nothing special but good quality and excellent pairing with the wines. But it would definitely helpful to have the short menu of food to be displayed in English as well.More
We went there with 3 friends, Sunday afternoon. We wanted some recommendations about the wines because we didn't know what to order. The waitress wasn't helpful at all, he wasn't keen on help us and when we told him we don't understand the food menu...because it is in Hungarian, we felt like we are bothering him. We are customers and we expect better behaviour.More
We picked this bar by luck as it was our first visit to Budapest. The bar was a great pick! Nice, calm and friendly atmosphere, very knowledgable staff. We tasted wines from local wineriers along with tasty cheeses and olives. If we ever return to...Budapest, we will back!More
Very nice spot where you can drink wine by the glass (with a long list of red, white and sparkling wines) or buy bottles. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
This is truly the best wine bar in Budapest, with an excellent selection of Hungarian and international wines, and many times fine wines can be tasted by the glass. I have never had a bad wine there, and most of the wines offered are really...fantastic, for an affordable price.More
Drop Shop is a must for wine lovers like myself! Staff are knowledgeable and are happy to chat about the vast assortment of wines on offer. We also liked that they didn't try to push the most expensive glass on us. We sampled a number...of Hungarian white wines and enjoyed the Firmint especially! We had visited Drop Shop 5 years ago and are delighted they are still going strong!More
Very good experience in this little wine shop. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, huge selection of Hungarian and international wines. Highly recommended. Book a table especially if you plan to go in the evening.
I don't think I can say enough good things about such a happy place. Very hip decor, and young staff. Richard really knows his wines!! It's fun to look at all the bottles and labels on the shelves. I can't decide if I liked the...wine better or the trays of meats & cheeses & olives better!! I don't think it's a tourist place. Seemed like all locals. TY for taking such good care of us.More
The place tries to be a good place for vine-tasting, but very overpriced offers mediocre vines. Trying to imitate the good spanish tapas they offer low quality cheese bites and salami/ham. You get better food in Tesco in less time and for one tenth of...the price. Service is poor - the guy seem to consider clients as a pain-in-the-neck.More
This is one of our favourite wine shops/bars in Budapest, not necessarily for it's cosiness, although one can certainly have a few glasses of excellent wine here, and some fingerfood to go with it, but for the fantastic selection of wine and the highly knowledgable...staff. If you have time or come alone, do sit down for a glass at the bar, and ask the guys about their recommendations and opinions. If you catch them at the righ time, you will leave with a better knowledge and a smile on your face. I sure have, on various occasions.More
I really like the wine and champagne selection and the friendly and professional staff. The place is small which combined with good service is perfect combination to enjoy it!:-)
My wife and I visited on the recommendation by some locals. Friendly service, great local wines and a lovely cheese plate. Just received my credit card statement, four glasses of wine (a few tasters) and the cheese plate only cost my wife and I $20...Canadian. Ridiculously cheap night out.More
