Looks like a nice place from the outside. We had to go inside to fetch the waiter to get a table. We ordered chicken with paprika that looked really disgusting and tasted even worse. During our 5 days stay in Budapest, this meal was without...More

We arrived at 6pm, the only people in the restaurant and encountered the most surliest waiter in the whole of Hungary. The only thing we got out of him was "drink?" "Bon appetit" when he delivered the dessert and "thank you very much" when he...More

First, the waiter is horribly cold. Second the prices are quite expensive. Third, the food is not good (chicken paprika without paprika !). Last but not least: the guy (kind of waiter) cheated twice with the bill with false calculations... DON'T GO THERE.

We were at the Magyar the 3rd of November, because the much more rated Bistrot near the Magyar was full booked. What a surprise! I and my wife took two tartare steaks and two beef fillets "Budapest style". The meat was very fresh and the...More

We both got ill (in different ways) after eating here although we had different menu items. The service was slow even though it was not too crowded. Everything was dripping with grease.

On the positive side, we had a table on the street, there was live gypsy music and the waiter was helpful. In terms of food, both main courses, the catfish and the paprika chicken, were very salty and not especially good. The next table barely...More
