On recommendation we tried this very small restaurant. Make sure you make a reservation as they only can put 18 people in it... thus very cosy. They have an enormous wine list and the recommended us - as we don't know a thing about Hungarian wine - a wine at a reasonable price and very tasty. As a starte I've... More

Kispiac Bisztro has lovely food, good service and great atmosphere. I tried the venison Goulash and it was simply delicious, pork ribs were fantastic as well.

I don't know how this always happens to us but whenever we try something new we end up being dissapointed. So we decided to skip our favourite place to eat in Budapest to try out something else and guess what? It was a big fail! Please believe the bad reviews and go elsewhere! This is the tiniest place ever, the... More

There was a good choice of traditional Hungarian dishes. The waiters weren't particularly helpful or friendly and the tables are packed into this small restaurant (although in summer the outside looked like a nice option). Food was delicious and good value.

The Owner/Manager is really Rude and impolite, you don't feel welcomed in that place, there are far better places in Budapest. Don't waste your time

The manager refused to sit us for no reason at all and was very rude with us, he seemed racist. Dont waste your time going there.

The service was extremely rude, by far worst service in Budapest. They seemed as if they did not want to work and basically said no to serving us. Do not waste your time going there, they definitely don't want tourists.

Kispiac is near the apartment I was living in during a 4 month stay in Budapest and it was one of restaurant highlights. Beware non meat eaters as vegetarian options are few. The duck and chicken we dined on were perfectly cooked with roast vegetables in a 'family style' way. It is simple cuisine using fresh ingredients of a great... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
