A really nice restaurant with a wide variety of Hungarian food. The portions were plentiful and service was efficient. The waiting staff are the happiest and most enthusiastic I have come across in a while. All in all an excellent experience and I would highly...recommend Lecso.More

The food is hungarian both traditional and modern. We had the traditional menu and it was absolutly delicious. Plenty of it and the service was good to.

The restaurant functions as the most ordinary student canteen. Take the tray, stand in line and choose the food. The food is nothing special, you can feel that it was heated. The goulash was okay, but none of the food was spicy, as Hungarians generally...eat it. The biggest problem is that the pictures are deceiving, it's really not like the pictures.More

The service staff is super friendly, everyone is dedicated to ordering and understanding. Good goulash, beef stew a bit salty. Small but cozy space. We chose a table near the window and the scenery outside was very easy

We came to Budapest for a couple of days from Vienna and we wanted to try a typical Hungarian cuisine and this restaurant cam up with good reviews on trip adviser People were very nice and courteous but the food was not good at all...we ordered the mixed plater and it came in a tray like school canteen and the food was cold and it did not look appetising at all Shame as this put us off trying more Hungarian food Hungarian beer was not better 😂 I guess we were spoiled in ViennaMore

Upon recommendation we visited here after a long day sight seeing. It's a family owned restaurant specialising in traditional Hungarian food. As well as the usual meats you would expect there are some interesting dishes that only the brave might try. See 20 & 22...inparticular in my photos! We received a warm welcome and were looked after attentatively throughout (in perfect English). Good value food and drink in down to earth surroundings. 10% service charge included in the billMore

When I saw it crowded by locals at the lunch time that meant a lot to me. In few words - value and taste for money! I tried beef goulash with boiled potatoes and peas soup, and got for the desert pancakes- and it was...very good! Pancakes are exactly like I got used to from my childhood - thin and light. Unfortunately for the lunch you can’t enjoy your stay there so much since it’s overcrowded.More

Please do not go if only you are not into overpriced, cold & tasteless cantina kinda food. Costed us like a regular restaurant but was way below average. Not to mention the Soviet-style entourage, trays & plastic glasses. Even the beer tasted funny. Outrageous &...disgusting.More

Dear Anna, our restaurant is a self service buffet at lunchtime (until 6pm), but for dinner there is table service. We recommend it for you. Trays and plastic glasses are usual in self service all over the world. The food is prepared but always fresh...More

Good, traditional Hungarian food. No frills, no fuss, good prompt service and reasonably priced. Sadly, many of these traditional-styled eateries have disappeared to be replaced with endless pizzerias, burger joints and expensive western European restaurants. When we first came to Hungary, there were more and...better traditional eateries so it was a joy to find this place.More

Good and affordable Hungarian cuisine place. I had lunch using a self service tray push type. Attention that during lunch , the grills are not served, but only at dinner. Slight cold desert, some heating lamps can be added to keep the food warmer. Rest..., super taste and big size of portions. I enjoyed the simple but clean and cousy outlet.More

Nice goulash soup but not what we ordered, which was Beef Goulash for €10. We were hungry and asked the young waiter for advice, asking what the goulash came with...we suggested ordering sides of cabbage or dumplings but he said not to because it came...with potatoes bread and dumplings. We ordered it with beers and it arrived 20 seconds later. This felt rushed even though the place was empty. A watery bowl of goulash soup arrived. It was nice and had potatoes in it and beef and 2 or 3 tiny noodle /gnochi type things in it. And lots of nice thick bread. However it felt like a starter. We have had thick heavy goulash before with dumplings and cabbage, a proper mea, l but this was watery soup. When the bill came it was clear we had been given the Goulash Soup not the Beef Goulash main meal . This was despite pointing to the menu which said Beef Goulash €10 and suggesting extras to accompany it. The soup was around €5. Nice but not a proper full evening meal we hoped for. Also worth noting the place is more like a small cafe than a restaurant but it was clean and nice but empty at 7.45pm on a Thursday.More
