Very nice coffee and cake enjoyed. Restful atmosphere, unhurried. The cake I ordered came very well presented.

It was nice little cute cafe. I went there for breakfast and it was delicious and filling. The prices are very cheap. Breakfast with americano cost me about €5-6.
Old-style restaurant not far from the Synagogue. Tasty food and nice atmosphere; pork medallions with yummy fine chips and a light tasty sauce, starter salad with good dressing, tasty and light cheesecake dessert.
A wonderful surprise! Our criteria was “nearby” and “reasonable”. This restaurant offered a delightful dining experience with excellent food and fun entertainment. The atmosphere is quaint and warm. We chose to sit inside in order to listen to the piano music. All four of us...enjoyed the mushroom or fish soup as appetizers and we each loved our entrées: beef tagliatelle, chicken paprikash, and duck breast. All portions were very generous. We had beer and wine as well and the final bill was very reasonable. I’ve given it 5 stars not just because it exceeded our expectations of that particular evening, it deserves an excellent recommendation.More
We were a group and out black friend asked for a table. Restaurant was empty and we were told it would be booked out all evening. We moved along, after a while of not finding anything and another 2 girls in our group decided to...give it a try again, and to our surprise and disgust: guess what? not only did they have a table, they had one for 9 people (which is how many we were). Needless to say, we decided to go to another place and would like to alert anyone to the racist and openly discriminatory behaviour of that restaurant's staff. Avoid at all cost!!!More
If you care about minimum human values, you shouldn’t go to this place, regardless of how good the food reviews are. I (as a black guy) went inside alone to ask if they could take our group of friends (we were 8 people) for dinner...last Saturday evening. My friends were waiting for me at the corner, so I was alone at the restaurant, as I said. The guy working there, together with the lady behind the counter, said that all tables were reserved for the whole night (fact: the restaurant was empty at around 8:30pm). I went back to my friends and ask a white, European looking friend of mine to go there and ask the same question THREE MINUTES later. They do not only offered her the table with no objections, but were also nice and friendly with her… How does that sound like to you? Please support me, your friends and the black community and don’t spend your money at that place. There’s a bunch of great options in Budapest.More
Tasty good, great servce and nice atmosphere with the life pino music. From the outside Its almost invisible, but after you taste the food you will be satysfied And happy you didn't just walked by.
The ambience is wonderful. Beautifully decorated. Very cozy. The food is great. The portion sizes were good enough to be split amongst the two of us. The service was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here.
Lovely little restaurant in the Jewish quarter with very attentive staff and lovely food with the piano playing in the background.
Our big group of 20 or so souls had pre-booked a Friday evening dinner at this traditional bistro like Hungarian restaurant. From the outset we were treated with genuine warmth and friendliness. Our group leader had chosen two set menus although a la carte was...also available. I went for the meal that started with a modest sized dish of roasted camembert with homemade cranberry jam, mixed salad enhanced with apple and walnut. I followed this with the classic goulash stew, egg dumplings & cabbage salad. My son went for the a la carte choices and I felt that his portions were bigger. That was certainly the case when it came to the dessert - cheesecake with fudge sauce, fresh fruits. Judge for yourself in the photos below :-) Regarding the drinks, we did well that night. I started off with a chilled glass of local Soproni followed by a local wheat beer (Edelweiss?). On the table, included in the price were also plastic bottles of mineral water and 1 litre carafes of good, local red wine. All delicious. And, of course towards the end of the meal we had to try out some of the local schnapps - Peach Palinka, for example and a black, (cherry?) liquor which tasted very much like a local version of German "Kumerling". Throughout the evening we were entertained by a profuse piano player. He was very good but we would have been happier if he had taken more breaks and blended more into the background. At times it was difficult to talk over him. Service was excellent throughout - I'd like to point out Adam in particular who was with us from the beginning until the end of a long and pleasant evening.More
We came across this restaurant whist wondering around the synagogue district of Pest looked at the menu and asked whether they could accommodate us as we had not booked. They were so friendly and accommodating and we enjoyed a great tasty Hungarian meal and good...wine that did not break the bank. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Budapest.More

The best gulash soop i ever had in my life ! Good service, great food and hospitality. Mostly recommended ! Will come back for sure in my next visit.
First I have to say I was very surprised by the kindness of the staff. They where very nice and patient- even if we were not the best customers - and the men who served us speaks fluid English, so that's a plus. I highly...recommend to try Gundel Palacsinta. Delicious Hungarian way to have pancakes!More
