No credit card but cash!!!! In this place u get the typical hungarian style kitchen. Very good made. A lot of hungarians are eating here, but tourists too. Fully can recommend especially the 2 dishes which are my favorites. It is really cool !!

What can I say? I don't regret a visit there but I don't miss it as well. The meal was ok (goulash) but the portion was quite small. The prices are lower than in other places, I think. The service was really average. Don't recommend, don't dissuade.

The worst experience ever. I didn't eat there. What happened was, I was standing at the door until I feel awkward, finally some came to me and took me to a table, didn't want to wait, I went on to get a menu myself, then starting waiting someone to come and take my order, after about 5 minutes and a... During our stay we ate at the restaurant. Ok it was a Sunday night but we were not the only customers there. First in a not friendly way, the waiter told us that they only accepted cash (florint or Euros). The waiter came at least 3 times to see if we were ready to order and looking at his watch.... More

The place was very nice looking and cozy, but the food wasn't good or fresh. Simply put, paying 10k for 2 mains and a beer doesn't justify dry, overcooked chicken or mash made out of powder.

Food was ok (not great) but nobody was friendly. We were so pissed after being ignored for 20 minutes and just left. There are many good restaurants in the city--try them, never this one. Just Terrible.

We had a pork stew with rice and a beef stew with Hungarian noodles. Both yummy! The goulash soup standard. Don't expect too much of the service, very standard. We had a bottle of sweet Tokaji wine, exceptional value! If I am in this area again, I will definitely come back. One down side is that they don't take credit... More

The food here is edible - if you're extremely hungry. All menu offerings are inexplicably double or triple the price they merit. The fish soup, a dish this restaurant supposedly prizes itself on, was not only lukewarm when served, but also tasteless: it literally might as well have been from a jar or can. Service? A joke, even by already... More

Wow - Really enjoyed this early dinner. Traditional and local food just around the corner from Art o'tel made for the perfect pre-travel meal location. Menus are in Hungarian, German and English so no issues there. Local wine was fairly priced and just the right beverage with the fare. Numerous choices for sides. Dining mate had soup and was superb.... More

The decor was worth the visit, boating theme all the way, hence the fish. I had Catfish Fillets for the first time, so sweet, but I have not seen them on a menu before. The wife had pork and was very pleased, our table mates, one had fish and the other meat, both were impressed. The service was good, even... More

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
