We came to this little pub/restaurant on the strength of Tripadvisor ratings. I suppose there is no accounting for taste, because there was nothing at all impressive here except the size of the burger bun. Upon calling over to ask if they were still serving food, we were hung up on. Hoping to find something warm and close, we ventured... More

Visited this restaurant/pub on first night of our 4 day stay at Boscolo hotel. Reason we decided to visit as long day and immediately around corner from hotel. Pleasantly surprised with food quality and price. 2 starters to share, 4 mains washed down with local beer and wine all for circa £45 Recommend pork escalope and beef goulash. Worth a... More

The reception of the hotel we stayed at, advised us to go to Piszkos Fred for dinner. We were one of the few inside, but were well served by the staff. We had grilled salmon, my friend had a steak and we shared a Cesar salad. We enjoyed the meal, very good value for money 7670 Forint for meals and... More

We were looking for a nice affordable final meal in Budapest close to our accommodations and this place was right around the corner. We were so lucky to find this place because it made for a wonderful memory of this great city. We ordered the pizza and one of the burgers and both were delicious. But be warned about the... More

Very sizeable portions. Tasty. Half a duck was enormous. Very reasonable as well. Half a duck and a leg of goose with fruit juices was 7570 HUF with 10% service tax included. Left an extra tip as waiter was good and friendly.

Still I am wondering why there so few customers here. Nice atmosphere, good food, nice staff, bad toilettes, flies and management occupying 1/3 of the bar. Looking not happy at all. So, managers; get yourself an office to do the business and Internet surfing, don't occupy the bar. Makes your staff feeling stressed as well. But we, regular customers, like... More

The biggest burger I've ever seen and eaten. Enough for 2 or 3 people. And tastes great! Worth to visit!

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
