We stumbled upon this restaurant while walking, and loved our experience. The food was delicious - with an infusion of traditional. The cold apricot soup was fresh and satisfying, and my salmon was cooked perfectly. In addition, we had the opportunity to have a conversation...with the owner - she was lovely. Recommend!More

Very uninspiring caesar salad, basically sliced chicken on dressed lettuce. No egg, no anchovies and the croutons were slices of toast! No- one asked if it was OK. Plates cleared without any communication. Did we want more? No. But it would have been nice to...have been asked. Piano player best thing about this place.More

I am glad that we found this place near our hotel. The food was delicious. The service was friendly. Only one small thing. There was no cooler for our white wine.

Noticed that there has not been many reviews of this place. Surprisingly our experience was the same as one from 2019! The food was awful. The chicken dish was barely cooked and cold and the vegetables inedible. The beef stew was a particular disappointment in...Hungary. There should be no excuses for poorly cooked dumplings and chewy beef. Many other place to eat in Budapest.More

I try to organize the review in points: - Location: problematic. The traffic next to the outdoor tables is heavy, the outdoor tables are separated from the restaurant by a sidewalk, and people constantly walk there while smoking, so you breath smoke from cars and...cigarettes while you are eating. It is not recommended to eat inside, as there is no air condition and the ventillation is poor. - Service: polite, but we had to wait a lot for the food. - Drinks: Excellent. Both the ice tea and the sirup were wonderful. - Food: the vegetables were partially raw, the taste was exactly frozen vegetables that should have been heated for longer time. What a disappointment! There was chicken breast filled with vegetables, inside it was cold and almost totally raw. The goose leg was great, the texture perfect, the mashed potato was almost cold.More

We were wandering around on the night we arrived and stumbled on this place, they had a table for us and we had a lovely meal. The service was very good and very friendly. The food was delicious, I enjoyed my tenderloin salad, and my...husband thought his schnitzel was delicious. I would recommend this place.More

The setting and the music is very nice and so was the service. The food however was terrible, without a single redeeming exception. The roast duck leg was probably the worst I ever had; I had the impression it had been cooked on a different...day and reheated prior to being served. The goulash was mediocre at best. And the chicken paprikas was barely passable. A pity, because the setting is really quite charming.More

The food was delicious! Especially try the local delicacy desserts! The staff were friendly and attentive. Overall an excellent lunchtime experience... and done twice in the few days we were in Budapest

When We arrived an unfriendly lady server offered us a table. We sat there for more than 10 minutes before she approached our table. I ordered a steak goulash. Very few pieces came with a lot of dumplings so that the plate looked full. Later...I saw her take something - couldn’t see what - from a plate she was taking to a table and whatever that was she gulped it down. The pianist played beautiful songs but he looked very bored by them. No enthusiasm. To make matters worse, on his break he sat outside smoking just in front of our table which was the first entering the restaurant with no glass or anything separating us. Smoke straight at us. Avoid this run-down unfriendly place. Some poor customers went upstairs. Don’t do that.More

Loved the food at this restaurant. However, the service was sullen and grumpy! Drinks dumped on the table, no niceties or how was your meal?? Wouldn’t go back because of the waiter!

First night we wanted to go there, checked the menu outside and immediately were approached by rude waitor asking what we want (literally his words). As the music was really good, we thought maybe he had a bad day and decided to give it another...try a day after. Second day: sat down (we were 3), only one of us decided to drink a glass. Waitress asked us to leave (even though our friend got the drink and paid for it) as we didn't order anything. UnacceptableMore

Recommended by a friend who lives in Budapest. I’ve been three times in the week whilst I’ve been here. Had the goulash, Hungarian pork chops and breadcrumbed pork with garlic potato. Enjoyed every visit. Polite friendly staff. Prices are pretty good and nice atmosphere. Would...definitely come again.More

Just picked this place after walking the streets and were pleasantly surprised. it was a weekday around 7 PM when we ate here without a reservation. We heard music and then realized it a live piano player as we sat at the outdoor area. The...two dishes we ordered were delicious - wienerschintzel and trout. With a bottle of sparkling and diet coke the cost was about $43 including service.More
