A very cute little restaurant with genuine Hungarian menu. It feels as if you are at an old Hungarian grandmother's house for a good meal. The food is good and prepared with love according to grandmother's recipe. Never been to a more genuine Hungarian ....Good prices good food cute staff. Dare to look into the kitchen and point to what you want. They are very cute and helpful.More

A little Hungarian restaurant GEM that’s like your grandmothers kitchen. 15-18 daily choices each served with soup. The ladies will kindly show you what they have in basic English. I have been here 3 times and it’s like food we ate at home. ( I...have Hungarian ancestors) The menu changes daily. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend an authentic meal, that locals eat at, inexpensively. The do use credit card and cash payment now.More

This is surely where people have been coming for lunch in the past few decades: Two grandmas are manning the kitchen, and the service of a very kitsch, very cozy place. The chalk drawn menu, the myriad of options, and the cantine-style feel means three...things, authentic, home-made, cheap meal that might as well encapsule a lot of what Budapest has been. Both the ladies are nice, approachable and helpful. Strongly recommend. We got there by bike, after spending a good part of the morning on Margaret Island, and before visiting the Buda Castle area.More

Very cosy place, tasty local food, and smily staff. We had a quick lunch, 1 bean soup and 1 gulash soup. Good and friendly service.

Imagine you are at your grandmother’s place. Taste is the same but here you can pick from 15 different menus. Everything is really Hungarian. Don’t miss it. A unique experience! You’ll be surprised how little you’ll pay for a hearty meal.

Great food!! The place is very easy going, you go in and you look into the kitchen what they have for lunch that day. Fresh food, super quality, a lot of choice, and the ladies running the place speak little English but enough to explain...what food they have :) They were very kind, polite and fastest service ever. Moreover, prices are very fair, so go ahead and visit!More

What a precious hidden gem! If my friend hadn't find it on tripadvisor, we would have never guessed that this was first a restaurant and so good! Its has a very cozy atmosphere, feels like a typical home and the hostesses are super nice, even...if they speak very little english (but this ia how you know its a typical restaurant I suppose). I went with 5 friends, and two of ordered the beef goulash, the other two chicken paprika and the 5th ordered 'stuffed' cabbage - all the dishes were delicious ans the desert was equally good! I super recommend it!More

Our family went here after visiting the Lukacs thermal baths for a late lunch. It's hours of opening were limited but we were very lucky to be accommodated. Without knowledge of Hungarian it may be a bit challenging to communicate, but the staff are very...friendly and sweet. The restaurant is tight and involves a certain level of self-service as typical with this sort of Hungarian restaurant. Locals do eat here and with good reason: The quality and taste is excellent for traditional Hungarian dishes. Our three teenage sons were also very satisfied with the quantity. I highly recommend this place - its wonderful.More

The food is very good, the portions are big and the prices are low. It's a very small, but cosy restaurant. Just what you need if you want to eat som traditional dish in an traditional atmosphere. They don't accept card payments so you need...to have cash on you. The menu is in hungarian, but the staff is very friendly and helpful and the language of the menu will not be an impediment. :)More

You know the food will be good when everyone dining in the restaurant is speaking the local language. This is where Hungarians go when they want homemade Hungarian food. This really is grandma's house, and her kitchen. You'll feel like home because it looks like...home. The menu, written in Hungarian, is everything you'd hope for. Order at the counter and receive your order on a piece of paper. Find a seat and they will bring your food to you. You can order something to drink once you've found a seat. Portions are quite big and everything is delicious. You'll pay once your meal is over and you're welcome to sit and enjoy at your own pace.More

We stopped in here after a long walk through Margaret Island. Amazing spot and strongly recommended. No thrills, but seriously good food for a little cost. All freshly produced day-to-day, full of locals. We had two meat soups, one chicken paprikash and a turkey dish...served with potatoes, pasta and rice. Fantastic feed and all for 4.600 HUF including drinks!!More

Traditional Hungarian food, a lot of choices, low prices. If you are looking for a fancy, luxury place don't go there. If you'd like to try something authentic, old fashioned, simple this place is worth a visit. Note that they don't accept card there.

A friend took me to this gem of a restaurant! It is small, it has no waitresses and you pretty much serve yourself. But it has an extensive menu, superb "homemade" foods and friendly atmosphere!

We had goulash soup with bread. The price was 750 forint per portion. Food was great, portions were big. And it was really tasty! The menu is written in Hungarian only, but they speak English, so we didn't have any problem with communication. Credit cards...are not accepted.More
