The Yama Budapest restaurant was absolutely amazing! From the greeting at the front door to the dessert at the end.
It’s very simple to make reservations there and I highly recommend it because many people love to go here. Once you arrive you’ll be greeted and the person seating you will even take your coats for you.
Food….10/10. This is by far in my Top 3 restaurants that I have had the pleasure to visit. The Caviar Butter was absolutely delicious and the Gyoza was superb for starters. We had the sushi and I can honestly say, the California Roll there was the best California Roll I’ve ever had in my life.
Drinks, guess what? It’s another 10/10. They actually had the ingredients for a French Martini and that’s hard to find in restaurants. Their signature drink is a must as well, trust me, just get it.
The staff at this restaurant are some of the kindest and most welcoming staff I’ve had at a restaurant. Our waiter, Gergë, was phenomenal, polite, and always around to help us with anything. The General Manger there, Hejassy Florian, was so kind with us and so welcoming here. These two gentlemen really made us want to stay longer and drink all night. They’re amazing guys!

There were a few things missing on the menu, no wagu and no corona beers. Also it took quite a long time to clear the plates and we could have easily ordered 2 rounds lf drinks extra if we werent having to ask for more. However the food is incredible, we had the family sharing set menu and everything was fantastic. Atmosphere is ool and dj playing throughout , really cool and much better than nobu budapest.

Had such a good experience, the staff is very welcoming and the ambiance of the restaurant reaches international levels. There was live DJ playing and the menu had a large variety. The food quality was fresh and I have never had better fish and sushi in Hungary. Highly recommend for everyone to try.

From entering the restaurant, to leaving, the service was incredible. I’m from the UK and have eaten at many £££-££££ restaurants in London and have never had waiter service matching Yama. We had the best waiter (Matè) and he helped us decide which items we might like from the menu (and we loved all of it). The rock shrimp tempura was insanely good and the sushi so fresh and tasty. They made my birthday meal very special with added touches and I couldn’t fault any part of the meal or service. If I ever revisit Budapest, it’ll be my first stop! Thank you Yama!

From the moment we stepped inside we had full attention from the staff. The service is excellent and the food nothing less then amazing. The interior is beautiful.
We picked a little bit of everything from the menu and they presented each dish in a fun and interesting way to us. They have a wine specialist that gave us perfect wine for the food we ordered. When we switched to cocktails the bartender only needed what flavours we were looking for and mixed something just for us.
We will definitely come back and we strongly recommend this place +++++

I did not find the sushi to be very good and I am annoyed that the waiter asked me to leave a tip "for the waiters" after a 15% service charge and a 7% charge for something else ("for the restaurant", no other explanation provided) was already added. I think that was in poor form, and did not add to the already mediocre experience. The two sodas arrived after my children finished their meals. Two children and one adult (one glass of wine, no other alcohol) was 180 euros. That seems very expensive for Budapest. I am thoroughly disappointed, we had read great things about this place.

We highly recommend this place if you want to have a fancy dinner with friends or a date night. They have a wide range of sushi and other asian dishes. The way the dishes, drinks, and desserts are served is very unique. Every serving comes with an experience. We didn‘t expect to have this good sushi in budapest. The staff is also super friendly. András was our waiter for the night and he is very attentive and sweet.
Be aware that this restaurant is one of the pricier ones in Budapest. Nevertheless, it was worth the money.

Me and my boyfriend really enjoyed our meal at Yama. Furky was our server and his service was impeccable. He explained both the drinks and the food menu to us and none of his recommendations led us astray. He was really friendly and made our time here even greater. The taste and presentation of the food was incredible and it was worth every penny it cost. Even just going here for the cocktails themselves are worth it as the completely stole the show. All the food is fresh and absolutely delicious. 10/10 would recommend.

The quality is exorbitant, delicious and juicy. The waiters are extremely knowledgeable and have good language skills. The general manager also visited us at the table and asked how we were doing and, of course, whether we enjoyed the food. The waiters are faster than our own thoughts. Special mention goes to Laci and the kitchen. Laci is a very nice, courteous man who knows exactly what he is doing. The decor is very modern, harmonious and well thought out - a mix of urban cyberpunk and sleek, classic design elements. The price is very high, but so is the taste.

We enjoyed our meal here, and our drinks, which were well-cooked and presented. Particular favourites were the kimchi rice, beef carpaccio, and the deserts. Staff are very attentive and efficient, and the interior design has an aesthetic that nods to urban zen. I have a few restaurants at home in the UK that really nail Asian inspired cuisine, and I'm not sure Yama comes up to the same level, but when in Budapest I would definitely return.

Best Japanese restaurant in Budapest BY FAR. The menu is a true work of art in terms of complexity, flavor and taste. Everything that we tried from the Nigiri to the salads, the salmon or wagyu burgers, the main dishes and desserts, everything was flawless and spot on. Must try the truffle & tahini rolls and the o-torro & foie gras nigiri, they are mindblowong. Also, cocktails are a true hit and it’s hard to decide which one to get due to the fact that they are all so intriguing and well presented in a fun and playful way.
Yama became our favorite restaurant in Budapest and we truly recommend it for foodies and gastronomy lovers as a must-go.
Lastly, I must mention that the services were impeccable from our server to the GM who are very kind, very professional and very well trained into the fine art of hospitality which is clearly such a cornerstone of the customer experience and journey.
Thank you so much guys and I truly wish you the best of luck! Amazing work and thanks a lot for having us as your Guests!

Very nice, cool restaurant. Very stylish. Some dishes were excellent: tuna tartare and tuna tataki. The rolls were rather average - you should make the rolls more traditional and not sell fancy rolls. These modern roles weren't that good. Very good offer of wines, be sure to try Hungarian wine, the sommelier is very professional. All employees were extremely friendly.

For my birthday present I got the YaMa voucher with the suggestion to take Ronin light tasting menu. I must say it was an extraordinary experience from the beginning to the end. Starting with the luxurious restaurant interior, followed by the warm welcome by our host, suggestion of great red wine, after which the parade of 5 dishes were presented and explained in details by our host. So, #1 Japanese edamame peas dipped in salt grains and a saucer of hot sauce, #2 train of sushi, maki and nigiri, wasabi, ginger, soya sauce, #3 salad of thinly cut vegetable shoots complemented with exquisite dressing, #4 bbq chicken skewers sticked into grains of Himalayan salt, #5 cheese cake in chocolate topped with raspberry jam. Thus ended our official menu but then to our surprise our host brought us an exclusive birthday cake with the little candle lit up.
We enjoyed every step in the adventure at YaMa and we warmly recommend this venue for genuine entertainment. You will be in good hands all the way.
Our sincere thanks to the YaMa management, with special appreciation of the service performed by our host László. Great job, guys!

I would definitely recommend Yama Budapest. On arrival, we were greeted pleasantly and our coats were taken and stored for us. Our waiter, Furky, was very polite, funny and welcoming. He gave great recommendations such as the Kimchi Fried rice, tahini and the Yama garden. We were also recommended a lovely plum wine by the sommelier. Thank you to the staff at Yama Budapest for making our dinner experience unforgettable!

I had a variety of items and was impressed by the taste and presentation. The drinks are served with flavor and flair, one came with a smoking wood chip and the other with a dry ice fog. They didn't just look good, they tasted good too. On to the food. The shrimp tempura in spicy sauce, wagyu sliders, and dessert were tasty. But my favorite dish was the scallop roll with caviar. Incredible. All of this with great service and excellent recommendations in a nice atmosphere. Pricey but worth it.
