It was a surprise for me as I am, being Hungarian, usually unsatisfied with our Hungarian restaurants. We had a great Saturday lunch there and our grandchildren loved it as well. Place set up is lovely, safety precautions due to the COVID-19 pandemic is well...organized. Food was excellent, except the appetizers, which were not tasty enough. A good choice of main dishes (including grilled mussels, salmon and shrimps, cakes, ice cream (it was better than in the usual patisseries!), pancakes, fruit etc. Service was also good. A must for everybody - Hungarian families and tourists visiting Budapest.More
We had a great time! Food is great, service is excellent, safety precautions due to the COVID-19 pandemic is well thought of and completely doable.
Nice place with a different type of seating feel like being in a place like in France, food is very good, go for the grill, nothing better than a fresh piece or filet of fish on the grill, some foie gras, a glass of wine...and voila.More
Buffet Style restaurant. Lots of choices for grilling . Lots of choices of fish for grilling . Wide selection of salads and other Hungarian style dishes. Beer and wine and soda included .
The best place to celebrate. Lovely warm atmosphere, brilliant service, eat and drink )Russian champagne included) as much as you can, incredible variety of everything and celebration birthday cake with local music!! Superb. £15 per person!!really.
Previously we were at two other downtown Trofea restaurants so we decided to try this location on the Buda side. For a warm evening the best is the garden. A large buffet - you could find what you really like. There was a guitarist who...played also easy listening songs.More
Together with 36 other members of our Great Rail Journeys Group, my wife and myself had dinner last night at Trofea Grill’s Etteren Obuda “All Inclusive” outlet (they have several others across the City) in one of Budapest outer suburbs. It is a large property...(with indoor and outdoor seating) and clearly very popular (HUF4500 & HUF7900 per head for lunch and dinner respectively) as the place was pretty full by the time we arrived. It is a well organised with a large buffet style (together with a well patronised BBQ section) format. Drinks (Beer, Champagne (Hungarian which I was told (I’m a non-drinker) was just as good as the better known French equivalent!) and Wine) flowed and a good evening was had by all - particularly those (and there were several) celebrating Birthdays for which the Trofea Grill staff provide a special ‘sparkling’ cake. Well worth trying so keep an eye out for this and other Trofea Grill outlets!More
We found this place within walking distanse from our Hotel. Checked the review on TripAdvisor and agreed that we should triy it. Was told by the receptionist that they only accepted cash. So we located a ATM after some fubbling around nearby. The buffee was...great. Huge variety of different meals, sushi and desserts. The price was 7900HUF pr person, but in daytime the price is 4500HUF. That includes all beverage(beer, wine, mineral,+)More
A variety of food that you want to taste...real cuisine...I want to go back everytime I visit Hungary
Nothing to complain even thought I wanted to. After a fiasco-dinner on Margitsziget island a day before, I was looking for an uplifting meal on the day after - and I saw this place on Tripadvisor. I was there around 15:45, managed to catch a...lunch-time buffet till 17:00 for 4500HUF inclusive drinks. I could choose from Hungarian/international meat-based plates (including steaks prepared right in front of you), raw-marinated (probably possible to ask them steak them too) fish-based plates, sushi, salat and fruits bar, cakes etc etc. Staffs were kinda relaxed and friendly but all professional and efficient. I didn´t have a big enough stomach to taste everything there, but I was happy that I went there. There´re several Trofea Grills in Budapest, but I was particularly loved the neighbourhood. Óbuda was a gem, and it was an extra coziness added particularly to this Trofea Grill located in a typical old house in the area.More
An easy solution to invite a number of people with all you can eat buffet. The selection of buffet is very good for meat eaters while probably limited for vegetarians/vegans. But this is typical in Hungary. The current pricing is OK. (We did not look...for break-even ;-) ) You get a slot of 2,5 hours for such a reservation what makes the lunch/dinner a little bit hurried. What was a disappointment for us (for a confirmed reservation): - our table was only partially set - the birthday cake was not hesitantly delivered Still, this is a good option for a group (we were 11 people), easier & faster than an a la cart place.More
We visited as a group of 5 people en route to Kaposvár, one person had been delayed from Poland, so this was our only option for food at 8pm. The front of house lady was less than welcoming, but we were seated near the children’s...play area. I was informed that no cards were accepted, only cash was taken. Luckily there is an ATM outside! Water was brought immediately & wine (sweet or dry) was offered. We chose white wine & ‘champagne’ (Russian, available in Poland for 1.5€!) The food was very well labelled (electronic mostly) it was tepid & very carnivore orientated. I had the roasted pepper soup, some salad & then went to the grill where I ordered the catfish. There was great choice if you ate meat or chicken. The grill chef was a very pleasant young man. Lots of choice for dessert both healthy fruit & cardio blocking cream & sugar offerings, I was disappointed not to see any wonderful Hungarian cheese. Tea & coffee is available. I had visited Trófea in town & had a much better experience, more choice, better selection of fish, just a more enjoyable visit. I won’t rush back to this location anytime soon. Not recommendedMore
Good food and a great price. Cocktails are nice, but they can be quite slow to serve drinks. Starters and puddings were excellent, but not much main course food for vegetarians. No dancing or singers when we were there!😕
Superb food very affordable. Beer and wine included in the price. Sushi, barbecue, Italian food, Hungarian, huge variety of starters, mains desserts etc. Good service and plenty of tables. Worth visiting when Hungry.
