This place was recommended by another restaurant for an after dinner glass of wine - and what a great recommendation. Great service from the friendly waiters and a huge selection of Hungarian wines. I only tried the appetizers and they were great. The atmosphere is really outstanding and there is a big crowd on the weekends. Prices are great, between... More

As a local, I spent an evening here recently to have a drink with some friends. The place is great in terms of the wine offering. Lots of really good local wines to choose from. However, the staff is cold, helpless and some of them even rude. Moreover, they really treat people without any interest: they kind of know that... More

Came here after dinner the first night we were in town. Didn't really have a plan on where we were going and this is pretty centrally located. It was definitely filled by some locals, so that was nice as well. Finding a table/seating can be hard at peak hours, so be prepared to stand at the bar if needed. Didn't... More

This place has a great selection of wine, many of which are upscale. The outdoor patio sits on the the St. Stephen's Basilica Square, which makes for a great atmosphere. This is a nice, classy place to explore excellent Hungarian wine.

It's only a good looking bar. The waiters are really cold, wine is not that good and you have to do self service for ordering. 2 cold plates with cheese and ham, extra bread ( five small slices) 1,60€ and a bottle of wine total 47 euro We follow the comments but actually no, there are much better places in... I loved this place and spent hours here sampling the huge selection of wines. We ordered a cheese and meat board which was huge for two people but so delicious. Highly recommended and in a great location, if you're lucky enough to get a table overlooking St. Stephens basilica. The staff were really helpful in recommending different wines and the... More

Hyvällä sijainnilla oleva viinibaari, jossa erinomainen valikoima paikallisia unkarilaisia viinejä sekä osaava ja palvelualtis henkilökunta. Iso juustolautanen kahdelle + kaksi punaviinilasia maksoivat yhteensä noin 12e. Viinilasilliset yksistään maksoivat 2-10e, joten halvalla pääsee nautiskelemaan jos vain haluaa. This wine bar is located in a very good place. There is large range of local hungarian wines and the staff can easily help... More

This is a nice wine bar with a large selection of Hungarian wines located within a stone's throw of St. Stephens Basilica. The bar staff are knowledgeable but will try to push the more expensive wines if you ask for a recommendation so make sure that you ask for a menu so that you know what the prices are. Other than... More

Had a reservation in a restaurant nearby and popped in for a drink before dinner. Nice surprise, great wine bar, big selection of wine, staff are helpful and knowledgeable. We described the sort of wine we like and the guy was spot on. I notice on the back has some low tea tables and people were drinking and having some... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
