Welcome to STIFLER BEERHOUSE, also known as Craft Head Brewpub & Bistro, now renovated and rebranded as STIFLER BEERHOUSE. We are located on Rákóczi Road with an expanded menu and exciting new events. With a vast selection of beers, the cheerfulness of Czech pubs, and our own kitchen, we promise an experience that will leave you licking your fingers. Not cheap eats, location is meh

Stopped in for lunch, entrees priced at $5600 Florint or approx $14 US, which is on the high side. The meal was good, the potato salad with the schnitzel was very heavy on the mayonnaise, so it you’re into that, this is the place for you. The Mediterranean chicken is deep fried, which I did not expect and the description does not state. Personally, that dish should be renamed, it was good but heavy for chicken. The beer was good and cold. It’s $1990 for 400 ml or slightly over $5 US which is higher than most places. They add a 10% service charge to the bill. Total cost for two lunches with 2 beers was $16698 Hungarian or approx $43 US. I suppose this would be fine if this was an exceptional location with a view or people watching, but this is more of a neighborhood joint with no real draw. Maybe it’s because they brew their own beer?

We are here twice over a weekend, mostly because of the large outdoor eating/drinking area and the location. Firstly the service: the staff were friendly and fairly efficient but service was a little disjointed with plates cleared before everyone was finished and late cutlery. The service was however prompt. Second the food: the burgers were very well received and tasty as was the Wiener schnitzel. The chicken paprikas which I had hoped would be a lovely rustic & tasty local dish had been ‘elevated’ or rather interfered with and spoilt though it was still fairly tasty.

The restaurant was modern and well presented and the AC provided welcome relief from the hot weather outside. Unfortunately the staff seemed a bit disinterested and gathered around the bar talking rather than focusing on their customers. Our waiter knew nothing about the wine on offer on the menu when asked for advice. The food was pleasant enough but a bit underwhelming and the fries came out undercooked and barely warm. Could be a great place if they can get the basics right.

A really bad experience

We was a large group of friends who was travelling together in Budapest. We had pre-booked a table and the restaurant was prepared (we thought…) that we was coming on a Thursday evening in June. But ufortunately this was not a Good experience at all. They had no control at our orders and everything was very unproffesional and chaotic, there was people who got their food almost an hour after the first ones, but the worst was the really bad service from the vaitors. It is ok to get stressed when there is a lot of people coming, but the vaitors (except for one) was grumphy, rude and did a not acceptable job. The burgers was ok, but the Cesar salat had 4 small bites of chicken, no dressing and was almost just pieces of lettuce. So tips from us; use your money at a place that like to have costumers and behaves like normal, nice service-minded people, and not by people who lookes like they hate their jobs and litterary doesn’t give a f***… 🙄👎 Regards from Norway

Popped in here for a couple of drinks after dinner, and thankfully, we left after one. Quite apart from the inhospitable staff member who served us, there is absolutely no atmosphere in this bar/bistro. We ordered 2 gin and tonics, and what we were given was 2 ginless, gin and tonics. Absolutely no gin whatsoever in our glasses. To make matters worse, there was a 27% service charge added, and to add insult to injury, our waiter played the sympathy card by saying that they don't see any of the tips. I wouldn't go back if the drinks were free.

Good beer and ok food

Contrary to previous reviews we found the service very good. We were greeted on arrival, and served with menus immediately. We asked for recommendations and our server was attentive and helpful. Food came quickly, and beer almost immediately. The beer is very good and reasonably priced. We had tapas style salads for starters which were good, and a pulled-pork burger and chicken dish which were ok. The food is average and not cheap, but none the less ok in a pub-grub way.

Got used to this place

Interesting choice of beers. Some exotic foods like pearch soup. Not too touristic, you hear around lot of Hungarian language. Full every night but reservation is not need as they serve inside and outside.

Solo lunch

I had lunch here one day during my stay in Budapest as it was just around the corner from my hotel. The staff were friendly enough. I had a three course meal & a pint of beer all for around £9. So very reasonable and I was left full up for the whole day. So a good experience. I am pleased I chose to visit here.

Amazing taplist

A bottleshop and a restaurant. Their taplist is impressive. Many local beers and I have tasted many: Mad Scientist, Brew Your Mind and Feher. The Hungarian brewing scene is brilliant. The food is ok, got the Hungarian burger which was fine. I'd return.

Dinner at Craft Head Budapest.

Called in on the off chance and were quickly shown to a table. Very well looked after by one member of staff. Food came quickly and was very tasty. Excellently cooked and generous portions.

Not a good experience

We had dinner and a drinks here the soup goulash was terrible and we informed the waiter to no avail the burger was not much better and be careful of the pricing on the menu is different to what u get charge for

This is possibly the worst place in Budapest.... if you want a lack of atmosphere, staff that sit judging and obviously slating you go here....we waited an hour for food.. the sarcasm from the server was unreal .. i thought i was on a TV prank show . ..its like Hungarys version of karens diner but not fun.. its a shame because the food we had tasted nice, for a traveller city .. u need to understand customers not only get body language, some ...can actually translate...ill leave it there....

We went here on our first night in the city, the food wasn’t the best! One was a sausage dish, which looked horrible and the other was chicken, which was very bland. It wasn’t cheap either, disappointing.

We had the 6 dish tapas and I can honestly say it was soooo good. The place didnt have much atmosphere but the staff were nice and the food was brilliant recommend coming here to eat
