Great way to start our Eastern Europe adventure. Just steps from the Budapest Hilton, this restaurant is very convenient. We had goulash soup to start, which was delicious. We then had the duck, which my husband loved and the chicken paprikash, which was good. Dumplings...and spaetzle with everything really perfect comfort food after almost 2 days of travel to get there. Service was friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend.More

Overall, we had a good experience but didn’t rate a 5 as the food was ordinary but well-prepared. My husband had chicken paprikas and I had the schnitzel. We were served promptly and the staff was very friendly. The schnitzel was nicely done with a...crunchy coating and not oily. My husband thought the paprikas was very good. A bit pricey, our bill came to about 60€ which was a lot for two mains and 2 beers. But, it’s touristy so to be expected.More

I went with my friend for lunch, our hotel is walking distance "hilton" here are what we ordered. SOUPS HUNGARIAN FISH SOUP with noodles and catfish fillet .............Price Hungarian 4180 TRADITIONAL GOULASH SOUP with nipped pasta ..................................Price Hungarian 3380 Main Course CHICKEN PAPRIKASH with buttered...noodles ..........................Price Hungarian 6480 CRISPY DUCK LEG with walnut potato dumplings & apricots .........................7780 Plus we had 3 glasses of wine, to what i remebered it was somewhere 1000 + per glass so multiply to 3 thats 3000 So all these should be 24820 on there currency which is 73.40 plus TAX hungarian lets round to 80.00 thats fine. But I paid almost twice, I paid 127.00 in US Dollar. I assumed that the guy did double the digits by accident or so. if I pay for 24820 plus tax I assumed for 75 to 80.00 all meals we had. If you paying your bill in hungarian I think you can figure that right away in the table than credit card which takes some times to pop up if we can notice coming from smart phone. Also ask for bill first so that you can run down what you will paying, rather than we are in rush and we don't see the actual bill but the guy/waiter just swiped card right away and my mistake not to ask copies of what I paid. I am so trustful and idiot.: ( I will not suggest this place and so 21 restaurant as I know theyre pricey as well. I need to report to Viking Cruiseship Egil we went that this restaurant should be more courteous with bill on the table before charging us the whole amount we ordered.More

This restaurant was amazing. We sat outside and had beautiful views of the Buda side of the city. The staff was incredible, attentive, kind and respectful. They offered us blankets and suggestions on the food to order. We went with duck and homemade pasta, both...were spectacular. We can not wait to go back the next time we visit!More

We arrived at the restaurant at a busy time so having to wait a little longer was not unexpected. However, what we didn't expect was the awful standard of service from the staff. We were ignored for ages after we arrived so we had plenty...of time to observe the chaos at the adjacent tables. Wrong food and wrong drinks were being brought to the tables all around us and it was a complete shambles. Our food - when we got it - was excellent, but after we had finished our main courses, we were completely ignored again. The staff didn't seem to have a clue what was going on. My husband eventually had to find the manager and ask for a pudding menu as we had been waiting for so long. When the bill came, there was a service charge (which we paid) and we were asked if we wanted to add a gratuity for the staff. We didn't, and explained why. It was a real shame as the food was faultless but the chaotic and careless service rather spoiled our evening.More

I had a fish Hungarian soup and it was delicious cooked. However they didn’t offer us bread although 3 of us we’re having soup. In other places there is always bread from the house to compliment the dish. Main course for 7000hf came with no...sides. You would expect it to be served with something and not just chicken schnitzel. There is a restaurant 21 on the same street and we found the food there was much better! Also much nicer customer serviceMore

Not really sure what to write on here apart from advising people to avoid this place and their sister 21 which is few doors up. To the owner I can advice extra training for the chefs and the floor staff.

Good food (not excellent... but at least 3/4 stars), but really expensive if you compare it with other peers. About 60 euros for 2 first courses, 1 side dish, 1 beer, 1 water and 2 coffees.

After a lovely walk around Buda I stared to feel peckish so decided to stop off for lunch and found this delightful little bistro . Overall very pleased with the experience. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable . I loved the decor and the...coziness of the place. The food was very tasty. I went for the chicken paprikash and cucumber salad and it was delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was very tasty . The noodles were a great accompany to the chicken. The only issue I have is with the 14 percent service charge as I would given a tip anyway. Apart from that I really enjoyed my experience and recommend it .More

Very pretty location just nearby the fishermann castle and the Buda castle. Their homemade bread is honestly divine. You can mostly find typical Hungarian dishes but if you're vegan (like me) you'll hardly find something.

This restaurant is, like most in the area, primarily visited by tourists. It has pretty much the same menu as the others, but at least the food is served hot and in reasonable quantity. The service is somewhat off-hand but I would have given a...higher rating if the manager had not asked us to leave a tip on top of the 14% service charge already added to the bill.More

Was the Castle District of Budapest and wanted to have a break for lunch. Thru my wondering, I found the Bistro and it looked very sympathetic. The tables are nicely spaced, so there is a bit of privacy and you do not have to hear...the adjacent table conversation. Wanted something a bit lighter, so opted for the duck breast salad with pomegranates with a glass of fruity white wine. It is perfect. The wait staff was good. Never felt forgotten. Would recommend this establishmentMore
