We had a 2 course dinner with wine as Well. For the starter we had a foie gras AS starter, which was Nice but very Big! In addition we had the tinderlion and duck. That was fine. However, just as we finished the starter they immediately served our main which was'nt that Nice

Outstanding cuisine in clear view of the Chain Bridge! What could be better? I had the goulash soup and venison tenderloin... Tres Magnifique! The bread that came with the soup may have been the best that I have ever had. Great choice!

Just a short walk from the wonderful Boutique Hotel Victoria is Zona. Amazing food served by a friendly staff. This is a very comfortable and atmospheric restaurant punctuated by great food and wonderful views of the Danube. Highly recommended.

Myself and my partner visited this modern looking place on a Wednesday evening. We luckily got a table by just walking in. Thee place was busy, mainly locals. If the locals visit, it must be good! Served quickly, the waiters helped us chose our wine and food. We both tried traditional Goulash - very tasty! Both our mains were delicious!... More

Stopped over for a bite and drink very nice place, open and modern style with copper lights from the ceiling and soft green walls. Tried the tuna & veggie burger, perfect! Waiting was OK but music fell out of place with late afternoon vibe... definitely Will return

On our way back from a day over on the Pest side we stumbled across this little restaurant/wine bar. Enjoyed a few glasses of lovely wine with recommendations from the waiter whilst listening to what felt like our private pianist playing a selection of modern classics and more traditional music. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with attentive staff... would have stayed longer... More

First: you need to book in advance, as restaurant is relatively small. Meals are very nicely designed, good variety, good fantasy. I would appreciate a bit more intense tastes, but still food is good. We had a romantic dinner there. staff is specially kind. The fish was chewy.

We were in Budapest for a short time and while out for a walk we came across this restaurant / wine bar and we were so pleased we decided to stop and eat. The service and hospitality from the time we entered was second to none. The quality and temperature of the red wine "fantastic" and as for the food... More

Having arrived drenched from the rain our coats where taken off us and placed in the cloakroom. Menu was small but sufficient choices. Service efficient. On arrival of our chicken burger and chips which was good, we asked for some tomato sauce and mayonnaise, to be informed "the restaurant does not serve sauces" why not ?? Surely it should be... Restaurant looked good from outside after a walk over to Buda. We were not disappointed. Modern decor and a relaxed atmosphere. Pianist playing jazz which always helps and he was very good. Lunch menu was varied and the quality of food was very good. Three courses and wine and a very reasonable price. Service was excellent. Thoroughly recommend it.

Description
Every tiny detail of the renewed ZONA is inspired by our trips to global cities.

The cuisine is influenced by their diversity, the respect for their cultural heritage and the current gastronomic trends. Exciting flavors, blustering colors unite in a unique location by the Buda side of Chain Brindge, but almost in the downtown. We add an honest, accomodating but professional table service to make your stay a unique experience, so we could show what guest and restaurant relation really means to us.

ZONA got 17 Gault Millau points in the past two years (3 hats) and received Dining Guide's Restaurant of the Year award last year.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
