I went to zona with my partner during a weekend away in Budapest. It was easy to book a reservation online and easy to find. When we arrived we were frozen and a lovely waiter with glasses gave us little cups of hot wine to warm us up which was very welcome. The staff were very helpful and attentive, checking... More

after passing on foot from Pest to Buda thru the Chained Bridge and going up and down via funicular, just nearby go to The ZONA either having nice dishes in small and warm ambiance or have drinks what you like. Had an capuchino which was most delicious and tasty I have ever had . By the way when we entered... More

Restaurant located in Buda, next to Chain Bridge, if you have a good luck to have a table next to entrance, you can enjoy nice view on the river. The food was excellent, I took wild goose leg, it ws splendid, very good wine list, good service, but sometimes a bit to aggresive. Pretty expensive place, but worth the money.

This was not the original place we were going to eat for dinner but we were so tired and didn't feel like walking around. This was the first place we walked into. The ambiance was very welcoming and the staff was wonderful. The portions are a little small however it was very flavorful. i recommend this as a light dinner... More

This was by far the most expensive meal we have had during our five days in Budapest. It was also, by far, the best. We had lunch on a rainy Christmas Day in their warm, cozy and sunny space. The tuna sashimi appetizer was a small portion appropriately rich. I had the roasted duck which was absolutely delicious and my... More

Lunch was surprisingly good. We went only once but if they cook lunches this way, the dinners shall be perfect. Service was somewhat slow and attitude of the young waiters too familiar to our taste. I do not expect to be called 'guys' several times while eating. My wife is Hungarian yet the waiters go for English automatically. The high... More

Following lots of positive reviews on Trip Advisor and a recommendation from the hotel, we booked an evening meal here. What a disappointment it turned out to be. Whilst stylishly decorated and with good lighting and seating, it just failed to deliver. The burger was clearly not freshly prepared and quite rubbery and my partner's fish course was small to... Description
Every tiny detail of the renewed ZONA is inspired by our trips to global cities.

The cuisine is influenced by their diversity, the respect for their cultural heritage and the current gastronomic trends. Exciting flavors, blustering colors unite in a unique location by the Buda side of Chain Brindge, but almost in the downtown. We add an honest, accomodating but professional table service to make your stay a unique experience, so we could show what guest and restaurant relation really means to us.

ZONA got 17 Gault Millau points in the past two years (3 hats) and received Dining Guide's Restaurant of the Year award last year.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
