Had a 3 course meal and every single dish was amazing! Would definitely recommend it! Every dish was full of flavor. Will come back next time in Budapest! Had the veggie risotto, rib-eye and summer mug.

This was our best meal in Budapest--inventive, interesting and not the usual Hungarian fare in most of the restaurants. The menu is relatively small, but the three of us were able to find something we wanted to try--and we just loved it. The restaurant is very centrally located, just over the Chain Bridge in Buda. So rather than suffer through... More

We stopped in after a walk around the area and wanted a nice quick meal. We were treated to a couple of exceptional courses and service that you would normally expect to see in a Michelin star restaurant. This is a fantastic find, if you have the chance, make sure you check it out.

I visited ZONA Budapest before embarking on a business trip to Athens and went for the tasting menu. It was well thought out, made from high quality ingredients and it was delicious! From the amuse bouche to the dessert the flavors were clean and vibrant, all in all well worth the price.

Even though this review is a little late, I still think about it now. It's not uber-fancy, definitely not formal, but I like the contemporary design of the restaurant and the food is really well done! If back in Budapest... I would go back. There is a little two-seater table at the edge of the bar area... you can take... More

We went to ZONA to celebrate a birthday. The menu is quite small but all of the things we tried were delicious. They manage to make the dishes interesting by adding unexpected flavours and texture. I had the duck with a salted caramel sauce and potato dumplings which was lovely. We also had the cheese plate which also was great!... More

The staff were all so friendly, professional and welcoming, and the food was perfect. Our waiter recommend a delicious wine for my girlfriend and a great local IPA (Monarchista) for myself. My girlfriend particularly enjoyed the catfish soup. I got a nice burger which came with a pumpkin dip, and pineapple relish. Very interesting. Everything was presented wonderfully and very... More

We had the perfect Fettuccini and G&TS sitting outside with a kool breeze blowing in our face with views across the tall trees and the river and Pest beyond. What a great place to waste an afternoon waited on by English speaking staff that were most eager to please without being overstuffy

The food here was decent enough ( though one of my parties burger was overcooked) yet the feeling you get from Zona is that it believes it is a better culinary experience than it delivers. There is nothing excessively wrong or right. Average food and it just feels like it could be so much more. Come here to pose if... More

Fantastic service and food! The staff was wonderful. They were accommodating with our little ones. They were meticulous concerning food allergies and were very patient with our multitude of questions. The food was phenomenal! They made unlikely combinations that tasted and seemed like they always should have been together. We will definitely be returning.

Description
Every tiny detail of the renewed ZONA is inspired by our trips to global cities.

The cuisine is influenced by their diversity, the respect for their cultural heritage and the current gastronomic trends. Exciting flavors, blustering colors unite in a unique location by the Buda side of Chain Brindge, but almost in the downtown. We add an honest, accomodating but professional table service to make your stay a unique experience, so we could show what guest and restaurant relation really means to us.

ZONA got 17 Gault Millau points in the past two years (3 hats) and received Dining Guide's Restaurant of the Year award last year.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
