We discovered this gem while waiting for our room to be made ready in a nearby hotel. The cones not only looked like works of art ( rose shaped)but tasted amazing. I had buckthorn cherry and strawberry and elderflower-my husband had basil and lemon which...More

The ice cream is not only beautiful, but it is absolutely delicious! Price is fine, 650 forints for 2 flavours and 750 for 3 flavours but you have to get a cone (can't make a rose in a tub). Staff were really friendly and let...More

The gelato is not only beautiful but it is also wonderful to eat. Prepare to be impressed. We all had different flavors and in some cases, combinations of flavors, yet all were just as great as the next.

I have traveled around the world and this is the only place I eat ice cream nowadays. The flavors changes from day to day and they make the ice cream in the store. It can be a long cue but so worth the time!

I'm sorry I really don't know. Like others I was fascinated by the beautiful design. Perhaps they could put the ice-cream in a tub?

Description
Located in the center of Budapest (Basilica), Gelarto Rosa is THE BEST ice cream in this town! Owner, the charismatic Niki Szokron studied the secrets of old Italian family recipes straight from the source in Italy and brought it back to her city. The philosophy behind it: fresh and true quality ingredients, old Italian traditions, modern technic and as final touch, add artistic creativity. The pretty ice cream girls at Niki's shop "create" each and every portion or cone as a unique artwork using ice cream as art material. It's simply amazing! Don't miss Peti (the barista) great Italian style coffee, and have real French macaroon from Juliette McAron.
