We stumbled upon this place on our make-shift statue tour.and we are so glad we did. We qued a little, but worth the wait, we paid 800ft for 4 flavours (you can get 2,3 or 4 flavours as options) we had other ice creams at 300ft for 1 scoop, so decided that the price for 4 flavours seemed far. We... More

You have to get the lavender white chocolate!!! I went back here 4 times in 3 days! I never thought I'd have better gelato, than when in Italy but Gelarto Rosa takes the cake.

There are quite a few icecream places like this, but this one is especially busy and popular. You can choose up to 3 different flavours made into a rose shaped cone.

After two nights of seeing a line, we stopped in for some gelato. They had several vegan options and even had gluten free cones. The gelato was delicious and the presentation made it even better. We went back the next night and wish we could go again.

Near the bascilica, a special yummy treat not to be missed. Pick 2-3 flavors and watch a beautiful rose created before your eyes. You cannot help but take a picture....yes of a gelarto rose cone. Fun. Enjoy!

Don't miss this place, if there is a line it's worth waiting - go straight to the cashier and order... try the kibana :) don't go on your first day because after you'll find yourself every day eating ice cream...

Besides the fact that the gelato was excellent, with unusual flavors and generous helpings, the artful way the cones are prepped was fabulous! Went back twice!

This place had a line in front of it but waiting was worth it. The ice cream was not the best I had but the display was great, it is also very close to St. Stephen's Basilica. Try the salted caramel.

We were there at 12 oclock, so there were no line. You must first pay at a cashdesk and then order the ice cream. We had pistachio, panna cota salted caramel and tartufo. The icecream looks realy stuning but the taste was nothing special. Salted caramel was too salty and pistachio contains artificial color and also salt! Tartufo was the... More

Our ice creams do not contain any artificial color!!!!!!!!! Please do not accuse blindly. Yes, we put salt in pistachio because it enhance the flavor. To pay first: makes it easier for you. Hard to pay with ice cream cone in hand . You pay and than you can enjoy your ice cream straight. Which did not happened with you.... More

The lavender and white chocolate ice-cream is AMAZING. yes it really needs a caps... the service is efficient and pleasant, I thought at one point the whole thing will be about appearance and lack in quality. I couldn't of been any more wrong!!! Ice-cream is lovely really worth 600 Hf which is cheap!! Compared to back home in the UK.... More

Located in the center of Budapest (Basilica), Gelarto Rosa is THE BEST ice cream in this town! Owner, the charismatic Niki Szokron studied the secrets of old Italian family recipes straight from the source in Italy and brought it back to her city. The philosophy behind it: fresh and true quality ingredients, old Italian traditions, modern technic and as final touch, add artistic creativity. The pretty ice cream girls at Niki's shop "create" each and every portion or cone as a unique artwork using ice cream as art material. It's simply amazing! Don't miss Peti (the barista) great Italian style coffee, and have real French macaroon from Juliette McAron.

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
