Came across this place by chance and was so glad I did....wide choice of interesting flavours (pumpkin seed etc) which were really delicious and well-priced: huge fan of the Panacotta Salted Caramel, one of the better ones that I've tasted! Would definitely go back if returning to Budapest.

Gelarto Rosa had hands down the best gelato I've ever had with seasonal flavors including pumpkin seed and other wonderful concontions such as panacotta with butter salted caramel (which was amazing!). Lovely staff and cozy atmosphere to boot!

My 8 year old daughter and I had never seen a rose shaped ice cream. We went every day twice a day during our visit to Budapest. Flavours available were superb - I highly recommend the lime and basil sorbet, which was heavenly!

We stubbled onto this nugget of awesome by mistake while strolling around at night. My wife came across photos online but you need to come here and see it in person. The guys behind the counter are loads of fun and makes the gelato, which already is super delicious and full flavoured, into beautiful roses. It's really close to St.... More

Have known this place since it first opened and keep going back to it each time I'm back in Budapest and bring all my friends there as well because it is absolutely amazing. The place always seems to be busy now that it became so popular, but the queue moves relatively fast and the staff are friendly. It is definitely... More

We had been advised to find the "Rose Petal' gelato ... and were pleasantly surprised by the flavors and special technique used to serve beautiful and delicious gelatos ... but the most intriguing and delicious experience was when we returned the next day for the gelato and 'savory sides' combination plate ... a unique and wonderful experience!

We stumbled upon this place on our way back to our apartment and decided to try it out since we saw people holding some beautiful shaped rose like gelato in their hands. I got salted caramel and Nutella and I was expecting for it to taste phenomenal. The ice cream didn't taste as great as it looked. It just didn't... More

Had a ice cream there before leaving Budapest. It was the nicest looking ice cream cone I have ever had. The ice cream itself was really good also, would highly recomend.

It is a normal thing to see a long queue winding in front of this gelateria on a hot summer afternoon. When we were there the other day, it was sunny, however, not hot at all. It was January and the queue was winding next door, in front of the money exchange kiosk. So we took the chance to sit... More

Description
Located in the center of Budapest (Basilica), Gelarto Rosa is THE BEST ice cream in this town! Owner, the charismatic Niki Szokron studied the secrets of old Italian family recipes straight from the source in Italy and brought it back to her city. The philosophy behind it: fresh and true quality ingredients, old Italian traditions, modern technic and as final touch, add artistic creativity. The pretty ice cream girls at Niki's shop "create" each and every portion or cone as a unique artwork using ice cream as art material. It's simply amazing! Don't miss Peti (the barista) great Italian style coffee, and have real French macaroon from Juliette McAron.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
