This beautiful castle with an amazing view on Pest is a must-see. Sadly they ruined it a bit by putting a restaurant right in the castle walls. It's overpriced and tacky, and takes away from the experience. Go for the view but don't stay for the food/drinks.

We went there to celebrate our anniversary . And it was absolutely perfect choice! The restaurant is actually a medieval castle. So the feeling of being there is very different. I asked a table with river view , witch is very beautiful . Eating and watching Budapest by night... magic. The service was more than perfect, the waiters were excellent... More

The restaurant is beautiful, the view on the city is stunning. I reserved a table for a special occasion and the staff of the restaurant outdid themselves. I got a great table with a balcony and amazing view. The service was great, the food was delicious and served in an elegant manner. The prices were decent. In short: very high quality... More

The meñu has very few Hungarian dishes. They have venison from New Zealand, lamb from New Zealand, Tenderloin steak from Argentina done more like the French way which was ok but I was expecting traditional Hungarian dishes. They did have wild boar goulash and veal cheeks which we ordered. We were served by a snooty tall blond waiter. I asked... More

The setting and the restaurant itself are stunningly beautiful. The menu is elegant yet not overly expensive. Good wine list. Make your plans well in advance as it is often fully booked. When arranging, if you want a table at one of the windows you need to be sure you specify "at the window@ otherwise you may find yourself across... More

Fabulous restaurant. Since it's on a hill, if sat by a window you get stunning views overlooking the river and town. Can't fault the service or the food. We even got a discount because it was my wife's birthday.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
