Overlooking the river and Parliament, with Matthias Church and Fisherman's Bastion to the other sides, the view is simply breathtaking. We sat on the terrace taking in the magnificent views from every side while enjoying a lovely meal, drink and entertainment. The only thing that was slightly off-putting is the entertainment coming directly over to you, and then trying to... More

During the summer months, this restaurant extends to the ramparts of the fort overlooking the Parliament Buildings across the river. It was busy when we arrived with no reservation but they quickly accommodated us at a lovely table overlooking the view. The menu is extensive, the food is plentiful, tasty and well prepared and the service was most attentive. A... More

Went to this restaurant for my husband's birthday dinner while traveling. We had excellent service from the staff and the food was very good. We had a table next to an upstairs window with a private balcony and had amazing views over the river and the Parliament Building. Loved the music from the bass and violin! Their music made the... I visited this restaurant for dinner on a Saturday evening in January 2016 and felt like I was in a Disney film. The location of the restaurant is spectacular and the views (if seated next to a window, of course) are stunning at night (saying that, the ceiling was pretty too). The service is very formal but not stuffy. We... More

In complete contrast to our meal the night before, dinner at this restaurant was disappointing given the Tripadvisor ratings and wonderful location. We had been advised that the restaurant had a large wedding on the same evening and had willingly accepted to eat in the Arcade Lounge but really hadn't expected that we would then have to put up with... Luke warm food, grumpy staff, fairly overpriced. Not at lot of atmosphere in fact nothing can be recommended, choose somewhere else. The restaurant a few doors away is better and friendlier but they do add 10% service charge on to the bill without telling you.

Great view, very expensive, very fancy, friendly staff. Recommend this restaurant when you want to take the load off from the sun or all the walking

We visited this restaurant for my wife's 60th birthday. We were shown to an excellent table overlooking the Chain Bridge and Parliament building lit up for the evening. The service was good, the staff friendly and the food - top class. The small touches from the staff made the evening an extra special one. Highly recommended restaurant for a special... More

Firstly, we arrived to be told that the outside terrace was closed because they had had a wedding that day and wee setting up for another wedding the next day. We had explicitly reserved an outside table and not been contacted to tell us their plans had changed. Outside enjoying the view was a primary reason for booking. And it... More

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
