very small place with a lot of Asian food smell in a restaurant, long waiting times but the food is freshly cooked on order placement and taste 6 out of 10. Price is 7 out of 10. Serve halal food but no certificate.

Cheap, tasty and authentic curry - what more can you ask for? The food is delicious, super quick and great value for money. Lots of vege options too. I would also recommend the chai tea. Small tables though so you might have to wait but it's worth it.

i found this tiny restaurant quite by chance, blink and you could easily pass it by. The food here is great, the hospitality friendly, and the value for money unbelievable. Its an old skool curry house, tiny tables, plastic table clothes, but it has a charm of its own. You sometimes have to wait a while for your meal, but... More

We went to this restaurant as we fancied something different. Reviews sounded great so we thought a curry would be a perfect idea. Unfortunately, it wasn't that great. The food is pretty bland and slightly greasy. We asked for the meals to be spicy and they must have forgotten. Either that or I would hate to taste it without the... More

After walking by Bangla Bufe for the better part of a year I finally ventured in on Sunday night and am I glad I did! What a find! Bangla Bufe is an excellent example of why you should not judge a book by its cover. It is a teeny tiny cafe, boasting only four small tables with plastic table cloths... More

This place is little, cramped and smelly - but you gotta love it! You don't even pay attention to all the things that could be improved, you just wait for their lovely spicy food. They have only 4 little tables, but it doesn't mind, anyway you feel comfortable. You can find a fair selection of dishes in their menu and... More

Very authentic little place, nestled on the side streets of budapest. The food is authentic home cooked pakistani / bangladeshi style. Easily one of the nicest real means on the continent. 10/10

We visited just before closing time..no problem. Everything freshly cooked. The vegetable pakoras were truly excellent. The two curries we had were well received and accompanied by good rice and chappatis. The popadoms were greasy. The mango lassi was very light on mango! For a quick curry in Budapest you are very limited so this is a good option.

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
