This is such a lovely cafe, just a 2-minute walk past the fisherman's bastion in Budapest. Me and my partner stumbled across it and we're so glad we did, enjoyed some nice cake and really delicious coffee, as good as I've had in a long time. Why people would pay for over-priced franchise shop coffee when there are places with charm and far better coffee like this is crazy.
The lady who served us was also very friendly. I would highly recommend this cafe for anyone exploring Buda castle or the other sights this side of the Danube.

My wife, our guide and I stopped here for a coffee and piece of cake. This is a wonderful family owned cafe and is perfect for a stop after sightseeing or a lunch. If you are in the Buda Castle District, let this Mother and Daughter Team serve you a fabulous snack or lunch.

Walzer Café is a located at quiet Táncsics Mihály steet in Buda, opposite the Museum of Music and at 200m from the usual tourist bustle and bustle at the Fischers Bastion. The small café offers coffees & hot chocolate, muller wine & soft-drinks, cakes & chocolates, pastries & sandwiches. You have your coffee inside and can see from the open large gate a few tourist passing by.
Walking over Buda we fancied a coffee. We went for espresso macchiato & cappuccino & mineral water. The coffee was good. Service is very friendly. Recommended.

I visited this café for lunch while I was touring the castle district. I had planned to do so for many days before visiting Budapest, as I came across the café while researching my itinerary and I figured it is probably the best place to have lunch in while visiting Buda Castle. Even my Buda tour guide recommended it. When the day of my visit finally came, I was not disappointed. The location is perfect - very close to Matthias church and Fisherman's Bastion, but it is in a quiet street just off of all the busy areas. They have a good selection despite the small size of the shop - lots of different coffees, cakes, milkshakes and even sandwiches. The food was good and decently priced. The lady in charge was very friendly and helpful. I regret only coming here once as all the cakes looked delicious. I will definitely visit the café again the next time I am in Budapest.

Little gem of a cafe for lunch. You might pass by without even realizing. Tastiest, best made toasted ham and cheese sandwich with a lovely spicy sauce on the side. Highly recommend for a sandwich or a cake.

We stopped here on our way to the museum for a bite to eat and some coffee. Lovely building with nice seating where you can watch the world pass by. The staff are lovely - friendly and very efficient. We had coffee, toasted cheese and salami sandwiches and a slice of delicious cake. Recommended

I happened upon this lovely cafe as I was exploring the castle district of Buda today.
So much Hungarian charm and the owners were so lovely and welcoming.
I had a fantastic cup of coffee and had i not just eaten, i would have indulged in a cake, all of which looked scrumptious.
If you are anywhere near the castle then please hunt this cafe out. It is well worth a visit. You won't be disappointed!

Wandering around the Buda Castle grounds we found this lovely gem! While Starbucks is on every corner, how lucky we were to find this one of a kind place with a friendly and warm proprietress. We had the mulled wine in home style Christmas mugs - delicious! And the chocolate pie, I honestly don’t think we’ve had any better…
This place is not to be missed - stop by and you won’t regret!

Looking for somewhere to have a tea or coffee away from the crowd? Walzer Cafe is a tiny cave of delight. Delicious cakes, fabulous, friendly service all on an olde world quiet street in the quaint old town of Buda. Just what we were looking for.

We found this great little cafe while waiting for check in at the Hilton which happens to be right down the street. We had delicious hot sandwiches, mulled wine, and cake. Everything was wonderful, the cafe was beautifully decorated for the Christmas holidays. We struck up a conversation with one of the owners, who also happened to be American, and ended up having a great conversation on a range of topics. Before we knew it over an hour had passed...what a great start to our holidays in Budapest! HIGHLY recommended!

Really nice coffee and cake.
Was nice to relax away from the hustle and bustle.
This is so close to the crowds but was pretty quiet.
More people need to know about this place.
Without browsing TripAdvisor - I would not have k own about this lovely little place.
The women that were running the cafe were super friendly and sweet.
