Such a dinky little place! It's hidden away down a few streets from the church. The hot chocolate was thick and yummy. Perfect for this COLD weather. Love the marshmallows and other delicious sprinklings on top! Need warming up? Don't miss this out!

This is the kind of place you want to find. We headed here due to the great reviews on TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed. It's a lovely little place set in a courtyard with tables, heaters and blankets to keep you warm. The lady that runs it is really friendly and very welcoming. We opted for the mulled wine... More

I walked down to this cafe after I visited the fisherman's Bastion. I had a hot chocolate with an orange/chocolate cake and my partner had a gluten free cake (celiac). Tasted amazing and the owner was lovely.

The owner prepared us some nice ham and cheese sandwiches and some lovely hot chocolate. Mine was apple flavored, not my cup of tea but my girlfriend loved it, I am happy I gave it a try though, although I'll stick with the dark one

Great place to have a hot chocolate and hot wine after exploring Buda Castle in the cold and rainy day. Friendly lady.

We almost missed this café but are glad we popped-in. They served us with good quality coffee and toasted sandwiches, and there was a nice selection of cakes, muffins and sweet pies. A lovely change from the ubiquitous coffee chains. The staff could not have been more helpful either.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
