We had a friends get-together for about 10 people in May of 2021. The setting is very nice; we got lucky with the weather, etc. The food was pretty good as was the service... We plan to make this restaurant our regular meeting place. (Bit...surprised to see some of the bad reviews...)More
Dined here in December. Christmas decorations and an evening view across the Danube. Hard to beat. The service was excellent, the choice from the menu was varied and with some different local specialities. Big portions and perfectly presented. Good price too. A lovely evening.
This was the third time I went there. All three was disappointing, but this time I decided to write a review. Yesterday we went there with friends for celebrating a birthday (25-30 people with kids included). The places were only cca 50 cm wide, so...it was like a village wedding in the tent when there is not enough space for all the guests. Moreover our table was U shaped and there were plates and chairs in the internal corners of the U, where either one or the other people could only sit. No problem, a few of us were always standing and talking so fewer place might be enough. At lunch time of course everybody wanted to eat and when we realized that there was a table next to us that was still free, we decided to sit there. But only for 10-15 minutes while eating. Within 5 minutes an older waiter arrived and in a quite ugly mood he asked as to leave the table, because that was reserved for others, who would arrive later. We tried to explain him about the narrow spaces and that we would stand up right after we have finished with the food, but his ugliness did not change so we left the table and finished the food standing. (In fact the guests really arrived, but 40 minutes later...) I really do not understand what he thought. He is the waiter. We are the guests, who pay... Anyway, the food: if you like the old style food that you used to eat also 30 years ago, this place might be good for you. We had to give the orders days in advance and we could choose only from predefined menus not from the menu-card. And the smell: we had to wash all our clothes the next days, because the whole place smells like a suburban pub that has open kitchen and the smell of burned fat goes all around everywhere. And just a few wor about the toilets: smells like the old-style train toilet, that is cleaned just once a week...More
Found this restaurant on the banks of the Danube close to Szentlelek Ter. It has separate dining areas, affording cosy settings or catering to large party groups. Our table was in a small room with the Danube gliding past as we ate some of the...best cuisine of our stay. Breaded Prawn Tagliatelle was mouth watering and the loin of beef with a mountain of shredded onion was superb. Somloi for dessert and a locally produced white wine made for a sumptuous meal. It was Christmas and the place was full and bustling but not noisy and the staff were very efficient. Wonderful setting, lovely cabin like interior. Brilliant evening.More
Visited the restaurant with family for celebration. The food was perfect, but the waiter was not professional. We ordered a bottle of wine with 6 glasses. Instead of offering to taste the wine he brought 6 glasses of wine. We were a team of 6,...4 finished with the food, 2 of us were eating and he not only took the plates but offered desert. For that service the place is overpriced. One of the plates were chipped (see pic).More
Went here as it is close to Hotel Aqincum. The setting is lovely, on the bank of the Danube, opposite Margaret Island. Our starters - a plate of mixed meats and a plate of dips and crudités were good, accompanied by some decent red wine....Mains however... My daughter had the beef - slices of very well cooked roast beef spread with mustard placed upon fries and then entombed with fried onions. Having removed a plate full of onions she found that the beef was inedible due to being over cooked and heart stoppingly salty. I had venison with blueberry sauce. Again, the meat was well over cooked and, at the same time, watery. It was accompanied by ten - yes, ten - deep fried potato croquettes straight from deep freeze to fryer. Ok, they were only small but 10 of them??? Staff were totally indifferent to our attempts to explain why we left so much on our plates.More
We were recommended to this restaurant by a friend Zoltan as not a lot of tourists usually go to the Old Buda side and what a wonderful revelation this was. It is a really big restaurant. There were three weddings happening simultaneously when we went...for dinner and staff was effortlessly managing with a smile. The food was one of the best meal we had in Budapest with authentic flavours and the prices are also expensive as compared to the touristy Pest side. We met the owner as well Mr Lajos and he was so hospitable and wonderful. The amazing river breeze, ambience, food, hospitality- truly the best time we had. Totally recommend everyone to go for dinner, it is totally worth it.More
The parking area was full, but the restaurant was almost empty. We sat down and got our drinks and meals quickly. Everything was fine, tasty and fresh. Staff was polite. The view is very nice, good to see the Danube and the ships. Recommended.
An afternoon after seeing Szentendre and Visegrad was highlighted by dinner at Rozmaring. We've arrived tired, lot of previous emotions - and was not expecting anything "express". Upon reasonable waiting through our exchange of impressions we were served with very decent local food. So, a...positive "finale" to our bright but colder October day.More
Planned a romantic dinner with my wife in this restaurant. Bad choice.. The waiter was grumpy and just left when we asked about one dish, coming back after 5 min and asked if we decided us. I took chicken with rice but left everything but...the rice. The chicken was rockhard and the gravy was disgusting.More
We went there on a saturday afternoon. Had to wait more than 1.5hours for the which were basically a starter: fried cheese. Avarage food bad service. Would not recommend.
Perhaps on weekends Rosmaring might have a slightly different flavor. But for a quiet weekday lunch on a gorgeous early summer weekday it was an unbeatable experience. Tranquil and beautiful Danube riverside dining al fresco, very decent food, absolutely gracious service. We arrived by bicycle...although there is ample parking and throughly enjoyed our experience.More
We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant! Pretty much the best place we ate in Budapest, and we can highly recommend it. Cosy place with a fine-dining attitude, but fair prices. Excellent location by the river. It is possible to sit outside and enjoy a great view...in the garden. Deserves to be rated higher.More
The location is good, next to the Danube under big trees, friendly staff, this is all good. The food was average, not bad but... From the choice I missed the salads - not the side dish but the main course versions.
