About
Costes Restaurant was the first Costes Group member to open its doors in the summer of 2008. It was awarded a Michelin star two years later and has since been recognized globally. It was ranked the 25th best restaurant in the world and the 14th best in Europe by TripAdvisor in 2014 for providing an exquisite dining experience while consistently maintaining a high level of food and service quality. Our continuous success can be attributed to the fact that we have always prioritized exceptional quality and have never been satisfied with anything less than the best. We are now resuming our quest with the assistance of chef-patron Jeno Rácz, a celebrity chef best known for his appearances on the most popular Hungarian cooking show, the country's version of Masterchef and the Rumour Restaurant. As we continue to write the story of this culinary chronicle in Central and Eastern Europe, we offer modern European cuisine in the form of a seven-course degustation menu.

We dined at the Costes Restaurant on a Saturday evening in June. We only booked a day in advance, and helt lucky we could get a table with such short nNotice . Our assigned table was cozy spot and felt private enough for intimate conversation. The staff gave the atmosphere very personal, welcoming and warm-hearted feeling.
We went for the set menu and combined it with the classic wine menu, as it came with a lot of Hungarian wines, as opposed to the premium wine menu.
The servings started and perhaps came at a slightly high pace, which I'm sure we could have adjusted had we asked. The presentation was on point and well explained, the staff spoke great English, and had good knowledge of servings and ingredients, and everything was carried out with precision and elegance.
The food looked amazing and tasted wonderful! High attention to detail and a meaningful explanation for each serving made this a great experience. We had arrived for a late seating and were quite hungry on arrival, and we left well fed and happy, full of what felt like a truly Hungarian experience we won't forget very soon. Highly recommendable!

We visited Costes as our first stop on our “Michelin” tour, experiencing Hungarian restaurants with michelin stars.
Costes has a very warm, welcoming ambience. The service was exceptional. The food is so delicious and memorable that you need to experience it to believe it. But it is very important to chose wine pairing with the dinner. The choices by the sommelier and the manager really brought out the flavors from each dish. Esthetics, taste combinations and wine choices made this evening unforgettable for us.

My wife and I had an extravagant experience at the Costes restaurant. Each dish served was a small work of art and an orgy of taste. Very kind and professional service accompanied the entire dinner. Thank you for the experience.

I booked Costes for my fiance and myself on New Year's Eve, unfortunately we were both disappointed. If a restaurant charges the kind of price Costes asks for a meal, it is then imperative to provide the best experience in food and service and sadly what was offered that evening was simply not good enough .
The service was slow which resulted in us waiting for a long while without either food or a drink and so were all the guests in the restaurant. When I kindly asked if perhaps I could be served a bit more of the aperitif wine as we were waiting and waiting more, I was told, I would have to pay extra for it. No food, no wine and no courtesy.
We were also served a John Dory dish that was extremely salted and overcooked. A bad dish at very high price !
The wine pairing was interesting, the dessert good.

The whole experience from start to finish was simply out of this world and blew our minds.
This was a special birthday treat so we’re not used to Michelin star restaurants but do appreciate great service (having both previously worked in the service industry) and it was perfection at Costes.
They accommodated my pescatarian dietary requirements for the tasting menu and every course was unforgettable.
I was just sorry to see the restaurant wasn’t busier as everyone should come here!
Thank you Costes for making our trip so special and it was certainly the highlight of our visit to Budapest!

I arrived at the restaurant without a booking and they were unable to fit me in. They however went out of their way to find me another Michelin rated restaurant book me in and arrange a taxi to the new restaurant. If the staff are anything to go by and the food presentation I saw whilst waiting for the taxi then this is a restaurant that you should try to visit

We had a fantastic evening visiting Costes. We arrived and got a table in a corner of the restaurant and were seated by the very nice personnel. It is very hard to pick out the best dish out of all of them but the amuse-bouches were fantastic along with the stracciatella, aubergine and celery dish which blew our minds. The main course (triple duck) was a bit too intense for our taste but we enjoyed the complexity of the dish. The overall experience of the restaurant fantastic.

You do not have to choose what you want to order. Everything is already decided by the chef. It’s a tasting menu but you will be very happy at the end of the dinner.
The atmosphere is casual for fine dinning so the restaurant is a very good entry point for beginners. The food and service was top notch. The price/quality was also very good.

Creative, delicious, fun. We’ve been fortunate to enjoy some great meals including 4 so far at Michelin starred restaurants this week and Costes was the best. If you ever get close to Budapest - and by close I mean if you are on Earth - you need to go.

Costes was the best culinary experience I've had from start to finish. Between the food and the amazing service, it was a night I'll never forget.
Each plate, paired with the wine and explanation from Kristóf was a delight.
The Foie Gras Rocher, paired with the Maison Aux Pois was to die for.
A tremendous meal was made unforgettable thanks to the service of Mara and Yelikjan, with their attentive service, as well as great recommendations as we went along.
Thank you for making the night one that will be near impossible to be topped.

Last night I've had my first Michelin star restaurant experience. What can I say? The service was excellent, the wine pairing was out of this world and the food, ohhhh, the food. I can't find the words to describe how good it was, it was utterly perfect from taste to texture, it was an gastronomical adventure that made me soo happy.

Fantastic experience, exceptional talent displayed in the intricacy and design of each course. Sensational flavors unique to each ingredient and then also combined. The service was enthusiastic, informative and friendly. The recommended wines complimented the whole experience. An absolute MUST for the senses and anybody who appreciates the artistry & indeed science behind Michelin star dining.

The high expectations we had of this Michelin starred restaurant were exceeded. Each of the seven courses on the tasting menu was a skilful balance of textures, flavours and colours and matched with a delicious local wine. A special mention for the waiting team too - they were charming and friendly. We had a great experience.

Costes is truly a gem. All dishes of the tasting menu were presented wonderfully and their taste and flavours were amazing. Staff were friendly and attentive, they made the whole experience even better.
Too sad that we were their only guests during our stay, this restaurant deserves more attention.

Our visit to Costes was absolutely wonderful. It was one of the best culinary experiences I've ever had.
The service was attentive and friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu paired with international wines presented by Kristóf which perfectly complemented each dish. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented.
We especially loved being guided by Mara, Yelikjan and Kristóf. They made us feel at home.
Highly recommended if you seek an unforgettable dining experience in Budapest.
