This was recommend to us by our hotel, the Resendence Baron . It was close to the hotel and has excellent ambience . It is on a small square ad has both outside and inside seating. The menu is very comprehensive. The portions are large and the wine selection is good. Weird that the house wines were more then a lot of the bottles listed.
The food was very good, it a bit on the pricey side. The service was excellent attentive but not intrusive.
All in all the meal was very good but certifiably is not a budget type of place to eat.

Food was absolutely superb!!! Restaurant was a little soulless, maybe as we were the only ones in there and there was no music. Food was faultless, I had salmon, my husband had goulash, very good value for money. Waiter was a little curt and unhelpful though! The waiter we had when we first arrived was great but there was a change throughout the meal, second waiter clearly didnt want to be there!

We visited on our first night of our holiday and the service was great, the food was exquisite - we both ordered the duck breast which was delicious and we had a great conversation with (I hope this is spelled correctly) Emese who had lived in England for years before. On our last night (a Sunday) we were struggling to find somewhere open and with a table available, so returned to Vendiak in hopes we’d have one last delicious dinner - we weren’t disappointed. We were greeted like we were old friends and enjoyed the great food once more. The staff are all very polite, the atmosphere is very relaxed yet it’s not a casual restaurant per se. Definitely will be visiting again when we return to Budapest!! Thank you to Emese and her staff :)

We failed to make any reservations one evening and happened across this restaurant just meters from our hotel. Although it was past 22:00 hours, they allowed us to choose anything from the menu and created a beautiful steak dinner for 2. The food was absolutely amazing and the service too. Both service staff, had no issue with a late booking, they made us feel extremely welcome and we never felt a nuisance or rushed at all and was even welcomed to stay for drinks. The atmosphere was beautiful, with views of the university all lit in warm lights. This place is a hidden treasure and certainly worth a visit.

Awful food and service. The appearance projected is of a high end restaurant / bar, however, don’t bother eating here as the food is poor quality especially the Penne Bolognaise. Some of the staff members or possibly owners would also do well to not ignore newly seated customers in favour of another table, to ask how the meal was and to try not to believe that just because the restaurant looks good, that their food and service is as well.
The last time I eat here 10 years ago it was not good and it still is now. Have a beer in the pub next door and go elsewhere for food would be my advice.

Wonderful Hungarian meal experience following a recommendation from our hotel staff. Staff were attentive and the drinks were great. Higher standard of food at a reasonable price, waiter suggested meals for us and both meals were faultless. I would recommend going.

Great atmosphere, service and food. We ordered Hungarian beef goulash and Deep Fried Chicken in Panko breadcrumbs which came very well presented with great portion sizes. Would return!!

We found this place just around the corner from our hotel on the last afternoon. Called in for a quick drink and snack. Had the recommended pea soup which was delicious , followed by chocolate mouse, like a party tastebud sensation.
The waitress was amazing and I’m sorry we didn’t get her name but she made the whole experience for us, thank you.

Lovely dinner, great wild boar entree and the pork medallions were also very well prepared. The wine that was recommended, (Carissama?) was very disappointing for the price. Soups were good - exceptional goulash soup.

I ama frequenter here for 10 years. I mean I used to be, today was my last visit. I took seat, and a waiter came and told me that he would prefer to add this table to 2 young women. I heard their conversation, he offer my table to them. They replied that I am sitting there. He answered that no problem, he can solve this. Beyond this story: food is average on a high price ( value for money was excellent some years ago, now it is not), portion is quite small. Location is great.

The main reason I wanted to come here is because of the traditional dishes on their menu AND the fact that they have vegetarian options.
We popped in for dinner on the later side. I can't recall if we made a reservation but we didn't need one, there were only a few tables at that time.
We started off with the cheese plate which included a few different varieties, pears, cherry tomatoes, walnuts, and an oil drizzle. Very solid cheese plate indeed.
We had tried a vegan version of cottage cheese noodles but we wanted to try the original. The noodles are extremely thick with a cottage cheese sauce, bacon (which I avoided as a vegetarian) and chili and scallion slices. It was hearty and delicious.
I tried the vegetarian option, a pea stew with beet falafel. This was absolutely out of this world. One of the best meals I had during my trip and we had A LOT of wonderful meals. I'm typically not a huge beet fan but the falafel was also spectacular. I'm very sad to see that it is no longer on the menu.
For dessert, we ordered the hot cottage cheese dumpling which was wonderful and on par with the rest of the meal.
The service was also excellent.
I can't recommend this place enough.

Three of us ate here last night. We ate outside and the setting is great. The food was reasonably priced. However, although we ordered three different meals, they all looked pretty similar: pieces of pork with lots of roast potatoes, in a tomato sauce and sprinkled with little, purple pickled onions. Apart from the onions (which were great), mine didn’t have much flavour.

Looking for somewhere reasonable in price and stumbled on Vendia. Chicken schnitzel and pork schnitzel were very generous portions with a beautifully creamy mash potato and lovely potato salad. Great prompt service from Kris. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere, booking not absolutely necessary but can get busy. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially regarding my gluten free options. Any questions re dinner they checked back with the kitchen. The food was delicious and there were many options from vegetarian to heavy meat dishes. Serve a good local beer. Wonderful place!

Fabulous service and fantastic food! Friendly and relaxed, a perfect evening with our daughters on the 3rd night here in Budapest! Thoroughly recommend. The beef carpaccio, beef goulash and the duck breast were highlights for us adults, while the chocolate soufflé was a winner with our daughters!
