Awful and slow service...the waiter was wasted and barely noticed people. Another couple simply left the place as they were not served for more than half an hour

I went to this restaraunt on my bday and loved it. If you are looking for traditional Hungarian food in a traditional Hingarian restaurant then this is the place to go. The service was very very good too and very well priced. I would deffinitely go back on my return to Budapest

We went there to taste traditional Hungarian quisine. Food wasn' t very bad, but whole place was extremly dirty and disgusting. Plates, cutlery, even napkins were dirty. Not to mention the toilets. We found only one good point- wine in dirty glasses was delicious. Waiter speaks english in very basic level, He told us that they do not accept card payment,... More

Restaurant a little "out of date". Very nice food, kind service, live piano music, nice atmosphere, very different from modern fancy restaurants. Credit cards are not accepted.

It’s was the most disappointing experience ever since I have been living in Budapest … well, lots of things has changed but the only thing I thought would never change here is the food. I was wrong – yesterday I took my old friend to the one of the most famous restaurant in the 7th district Kispipa – not necessarily... More

We very much enjoyed our one visit to Kis Pipa. The foods were full of flavor, the server was rather likable, and I would guess that the old dining room has years of stories to tell. This is traditional fare, not upscale modern. I will go again when next in Budapest.

I think there are 2 entries for this restaurant and I have already written on the other. However I will also write here because I cannot recommend enough the food at Kis Pipa, best I had in Hungary. I travelled with my husband who had been here 30 years ago and he commented that this place had the authentic Hungarian... More

This restaurant was recommended by our apartment owner. This is a very traditional Jewish restaurant with old items in the building to enhance that feeling. I enjoyed the food and atmosphere in this restaurant. We had a man singing and playing nice music on the piano. The food was very nice and the staff was very friendly. This wasn't my... More

This place was good a few years ago, but now it is really bad. Service is bad,the food is not well cooked, and the facilities are not clean.

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
