The pub inside is shabby, old furniture, bad music, the owner and waitresses are rude. Attention, I clearly ordered a "small beer", they brought me a big one, I paid for it and they gave me a wrong change of course stealing me money, when I showed to the waitress that the change was wrong she replied rudly did not... On my first night in Budapest I thought "Hey, a Manowar themed bar"! I'm a huge fan, so it was a no brainer for me to go in. Sadly, the looks and the music of the bar did not match the experience. The food is average, at best. The beer is terribly overpriced. The serving is slow. And their math... More

This cafe is a scam, they have a recording in the kitchen to fake cooking sounds, in reality they microwave everything. Hope people read reviews before they sit down. It's a disgrace to the wonderful cafes and bistros all around Budapest.

Iron Maiden wanna b running it whilst 2 young girls/ waiters sat texting and smoking. The third girl working the only table. Us! 6 Brits. Simple order 2 ham/ cheese toasties badly processed... More

After visiting the Basilica we were hungry and in need of a drink. This cafe is located very close so seemed like a good option. We sat down and the waitress came over to take our drinks order. Once she bought our drinks she took our food order, I asked for some french fries (not on the menu on their... More

Thought we would stop in as the rock/metal bar vibe looked exciting and different, all the food was frozen/microwave meals and the pizza we ordered came out black and burned. When we asked for them to change it the waitress shrugged and said 'I didn't make it' and then huffed in our faces when we didn't let up. It was... More

This place is wrong on so many levels.... The waitresses seem scared of the manager who yells at them. The place is decorated with old poster of the group manowar (?!?). The prices are too high. Just don't go there...

Don't listen to the reviews below. Dropped into this place last week on a Thursday night (April 2016) and it was great. They have a very impressive collection of Manowar memorabilia we covers most of the walls, although the film star pictures I'll admit are a bit of a bizarre addition. Also, it's true, like people complained about in other... More

I'm appalled at the other reviews. Being disappointed is due to your own stupidity, sorry to say. If you like fine dining and clean toilets, steer away. Granted, we visited Budapest outside tourist season (night temps nearing zero) so the name and location of the place might be "slightly" misleading on a sunny summer day, but after taking the first... I'd like to think I'm a metal head. So when walking thru various stalls at xmas market just keeping The Wife happy... I suddenly saw a Manowar poster and we had to go in. The decorations is more less quality, lots of Manowar memorabilia, while also some cheesy pictures of various actresses. Decent choice of various beers, despite not too... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
