MAK is excellent! I had the pork cheek appetizer and the pigeon main course and loved both of them. They mix interesting flavors and everything pairs perfectly. They had an amuse bouche before our appetizers came out and also presented one to my friend before...More

It is a fine balance between nonchalant, lassefair and straight to the core discipline when you are seated at Mak. Gone is the wish to create a thick wall between the high intensity kitchen and the clam surroundings of the guests. So they merge instead...More

Dear Sofus A, It is a great pleasure to read your warm words. Whenever we are tired, exhausted we will read your words again (as well as the extremely kind words of some other guests) to find encouragement. It does worth all the effort to...More

We had the short menu with a fantastic bottle of nature wine to match. All in all we had a very pleasant evening at MAK with great food and a down to earth, yet very professional waiter & sommelier. Thank you!

Everything from food to wine was superb. Small but delicious dishes. Seasonal and unique. And not necessarily traditional Hungarian. But some amazing specialities.

Little groovy place we stumbled upon not far from the river. Lovely ambiance, small but nice menu- reasonable price for quality food. Highly recommended!

My husband and I had a lovely, delicious dinner at Mak during a recent vacation in Budapest. The wait staff was wonderful. Beautiful selection of Hungarian wines. Loved the casual wood tables in the gorgeous vaulted space. It reminded us of a Brooklyn restaurant, thoughtful...More

The dinner was very good and tasty, but the service.... should not be so bad in such a restaurant. My board was broken... they were reading their smartphones near our table.... and so on. I'll not go there again.

This restaurant was our first of three Michelin-starred restaurants we visited in Budapest. The food was average and not served hot, and the service was really no up-to-par for such highly rated restaurant. The highlight of the evening was the bread and the sommelier, who...More
