On a monday evening we went here for dinner. We started with a tartar (tatár friss zöldségekkel). Then we had somloi galuska, borjupaprikás and töltött káposzta, which was all very good. A stylish place, tucked away in a court yard, highly recommended! On weekend days...there can be live music, and reservations might then be necessary.More

My favourite Euro capital city. Friendly, laid back people wearing elegant non-branded casual clothes. Concert in St Stephen's Basilica followed by a meal in the garden of Karolyi .. my favourite too!

Went to the Karolyi restaurant on a recommendation for stuffed cabbage. Service was excellent. Food was excellent. Piano player very enjoyable. Price was certainly reasonable. Will recommend to any on going to Pest.

Based on reviews we booked this restaurant for our NYs Eve dinner. Venue is nice has a charming old fashioned feel and the staff efficient and polite. Live music was great. The food however like much of the city center tourist area was a big...let down. The soup course tasted shop bought with a single floating tortellini. The fish course was better but was served bizarrely with an accompanying single cooked small shrimp. The meat course was the best part of the meal, despite the nouvelle cuisine meat portion. The dessert reminded me off something l got for school dinners. A patisserie bought tart would have been better! All this for a hefty 65/75 euro. Most guests seemed to be tourists so no effort needed as they won’t be back. It’s a real shame that good food in this beautiful city is so difficult to find even with a hefty price tagMore

I was here for lunch. The food was a classic throwback to traditional old school Hungarian cuisine. It might be bit more expensive then usual but the atmosphere was worth it. Had Goulash pancake that was very 80s and heavy.

The venue is great, in a park. It looks old fashion, but the food was very tastful and the price reasonable. The waiters were very helpful. This is a restaurant were you have to go when you want to experience Hungarian food!

We found this gem of a restaurant in Budapest. Stopped in for a glass of wine. Very pleasant with piano player. Try it I’m sure you will love it.

My friends and I were looking for a restaurant off the beaten track with good reviews. I am so glad we booked our evening meal here. We had great food and very attentive service, and spent a lovely evening enjoying music from their resident piano...player, and had a bit of an impromptu sing a long. I would definitely recommend a visit, and hope to return soon.More

After being so disappointed in so many of our Budapest meals we've started researching restaurants on trip advisor beforehand. Read the reviews and since it was close to our accommodations on Vaci Utci we decided to try this. Regretted not checking this neighborhood out beforehand...because we leave tomorrow and it appears to have much better restaurant choices than Vaci Utci. Yes, this place is certainly tucked away and off the beaten track, but that just added to the charm. Lovely old world ambiance with a piano player. Gracious, friendly service, no crowds and obnoxious tourists. Food was well prepared and tasty. Not exceptional, but very reasonably priced and the relaxing charm and ambiance made for a pleasant farewell to Budapest.More

No, the restaurant is closed on December 24, 25, and 26. However, they have what seems to be a fabulous menu, at a fabulous price, for NY's eve.
