About
Hungarian cuisine from the "good old days" gets a modern update at 21. The dishes maintain all the rich flavors of their original preparations, but here they are lighter, celebrating fresh ingredients from the farmer's market. This is an old-fashioned, quality Hungarian restaurant re-imagined through a modern lens.

Our guide, Ezther, booked us a table at this resturant, in Buda area! Very kind team, very very good and fine cooking and well prepared dishes, starters and desserts for a good price. The restaurant itself is nicely arranged as well. Go there and enjoy...lunches, diners and quality of food!More

Try the Hortobagyi pancake as an appetizer! Followed by their Wienerschnitzel , you’ll be in heaven....excellent service and great value! Highly recommended!!!

Great location, wonderful terrace and an excellent wine list. I’ve tried only salads and desserts which were very delicious; I can only assume that the hungarian dishes are the same quality. My only remark is the rather limited menu (which isn’t neccessarly bad) but as...a vegetarian it was not an option for me to have a main meal. Otherwise I would recommend 21 without a doubt, and go back for lighter meals anytime!More

My boyfriend and I ate here during touring around Buda, and it was the best meal of our whole holiday. We couldn’t believe the quality of the food for how cheap it is. I had the chicken supreme and my boyfriend had the pig knuckle...- would really recommend! Staff are so friendly and it was a lovely sunny day so we sat outside which really made it extra lovely. Would recommend to anyone visiting Budapest!More

First time that I'm giving a 1 star on Tripadvisor, after eating here today. Food was average, with soup being cold and other dishes very average although with a nice presentation... The worst thing was an extremely rude waiter who did not want to bring...us starters before the soup and started arguing with us. When we asked him to bring the starters, he agreed, yet he did not bring them until we finished the soup. Afterwards he was rude as if we have offended him. When we asked for the bill he said 'yes' but then completely forgot about us. Had to ask another timr and wasted half an hour waiting for the bill. Completely put off by the customer service. Avoid the place at all costs.More

This was the ideal spot to stop for lunch after walking around the Buda Tower and Palace area in the rain. The service was really good, our waiter was very friendly and made good recommendations. The food was very tasty (mushroom ravioli and duck breast)...and with a chocolate cake to finish it off. Possible our best meal in Budapest.More

We drove here by the blue bus. Walking from Mathias church. I had hortobagy palacinka and my daughter Wiener schnitzel, and it was excellent. Also the stuff was nice and polite, they let us eat outside (normally you can only drink outside...), so we had...a nice view in a mild february weather. I highly recommend.More
