We found this fabulous place online before our visit and found it on our first night. We didn't book and they squeezed us in. A great atmosphere, in a lovely building, we ordered 4 tapas and some bread, all came quickly and served by nice friendly waiters, great choice and very authentic. Good value for great food!!

It's a long available place in Buda, we use to visit it quite regularly. Can you eat better tapas? Sure, in Spain. But not really in Central Europe for a bearable price. Could be a bit cheaper to become a more frequent destination for us, but we could just recommend it. You have to taste some quality wines as well, as the have them ;)

Nice selection of different tapas. Friendly service. Quality of the food is good. Prices are a little high. There is an option to sit outside. Inside can be hot in the summer as there is no climate control, only ventilators. Only point for improvement is to remove the 10% from the bill. I prefer to decide myself if and how much I tip. Definitely worth a visit.

Terrible exprecience, if you want to eat overpriced food, for a portion you would give to a small cat, then go here. They don’t use spices, everything is dipped in a litre of oil. The waiters are unprofessional, always empty handed, for 12,5% service price. There are much better spanish restaurants in Hungary.

Don’t go to Madrid for Goulash and don’t come to Budapest for Tapas. Spain is the capital of gastronomy and the tapas there are on another level unattainable here. As long as you arrive with this understanding and expectations, you might enjoy.

Food was average at best. If you like your food absolutely drenched in oil, you’ll probably find it enjoyable. Service, however, was horrendous. The waiters were extremely unhelpful when asking for changes in the food composition, some of the menu items were just unavailable, and the worst incident occurred when we attempted to order a soup - which, after nearly 40 minutes of waiting and mentioning it to the waiters twice, we went inside to ask and were notified that they here out and never had it in the first place, despite putting it on our bill. We were then handed over some spare change as a “refund” and promptly left to go to our taxi which had been waiting for us. Needless to say, I see absolutely no redeeming qualities in this restaurant and would not recommend it. Just go buy some Iberico ham from your local delicatessen.

Incredibly bad quality of the food, not Spanish at all. Ibérico ham wast nothing but the typical ham you buy at the supermarket. Overpriced, pricey, whatever you want to call it. Not worth it the money. Sangría was not a good sangria, croquetas, cheese and pimientos de padrón didn't have the taste, patatas bravas, was that even a proper spanish tapa? And so on and so on. Misleading for people who never tried typical Spanish food. As a Spaniard, I don't recommend this restaurant at all. They don't even have the most traditional spanish tapas such as tortilla of paella. If you want to go to a nice Spanish restaurant in Budapest, try Fuego Negro or Tapa Agria. Whatever you choose will still be a better option than this one. Absolutely disappointed.

I am an Asian who lived in Hungary, and the restaurant workers thought I couldn't speak Hungarian, so they laughed at me in Hungarian and answered in Hungarian, and they started treating me kindly from then on. These trashy racist restaurants should be closed. Get your employees trained properly.

We have already been to this place in the past numerous times both in the Pest and the Buda restaurants, and always loved it. Today we ordered home delivery, and it was utterly disappointing. We had the sirloin (very chewy), the octopus (also chewy), the calamari (that one was really tasty), the meatballs (also good), grilled vegetables (they look like they were cooked way too long, and ready to be added to a lecso), patatas (good) plus the serrano ham (sliced way too thick, plus it is a very small portion). All this for 15K HUF. I guess we will not order again from Pata Negra.

Food was average. I have been to much much nicer Tapas restaurants. Meatballs tasted odd. Crispy squid was flavourless. But. The service was shocking!! We were ignored. We asked for the bill 3 times. Ended up paying at the counter so we could leave.

Buda side of the city offers very nice spots, and after a walk Pata Negra is a perfect place to have a break (if you can relax on a place that is noisy like a Spanish market). It's near the main attractions. The staff is friendly, the choice of food is exceptional. The raspberry brandy was a bit strange.

Wonderful service, very friendly staff and the food is always amazing. It was the first time of part of the family and everything was explained in detail to them by the staff with useful tips on how to order which dishes to select etc.
